FiveM itself is free, you have to purchase GTA 5 through steam to install FiveM though.

no you will not, FiveM is its own separate entity & does not effect anything regarding GTA Online

If you can not find the setting on steam, find your steam common files --> apps --> GTA 5 then copy that path.

Launch GTA 5 through Steam and login to Rockstar games there, then retry the FiveM installation.

In steam, try to verify your GTA 5 game files. Once that has completed, launch GTA 5 through Steam, close the game then try installing it.
