Had you used a grain filler it would be like glass. Great vid and great fix method.

@ Mohawk wood grain filler. It’s a little pricey but you’ll get a piano finish.

Thanks for the review. Is there any screws or ways to attach a perpendicular jig for 90 degrees edges ? I don't understand why this is not standardised.
@JeffEstesBuildsАй бұрын
You know, great question but I dont think so. I suppose you could make a jig but I imagine that would be a real "treat" of a time and get cumbersome. I agree, this needs to be standard, especially for projects where the thickness of the edge is 1" or less. You can really get into trouble if your not careful. Maybe look up some 3d printed jigs and see if someone has made one. If not, you got yourself a product project.

@JeffEstesBuilds certainly am. As I don't have a table saw and needed some very fine slithers I went to the local cabinet maker and showed a snippet of your video. They gave me a great lot of slithers of various wood species. May help your followers particularly DIY'er types like me..

Fair, but if you value your time more than money, and I do, the best fit for that lifestyle is buying something this cheap and effective. I understand wanting to build everything, but at this point in my career, it just doesn't make sense. Plus my hourly shop rate plus materials surpasses the cost of this lil guy.

But - is it stainable? In certain instances this is great! But for something decorative/indoors (table, furniture, etc) - how would you make it unnoticeable?
@JeffEstesBuilds4 ай бұрын
Great question. I would tint the powder with whatever color you want it to be (with another powder base dye or natural element) because it does not stain well. Just be careful of fire hazard!

I think most will agree that epoxy is better than CA last longer stronger not as brittle, etc. there is a five minute epoxy and I don’t know how it compares to regular epoxy, but I am using whatever epoxy I can get a hold of and mixing it with a product called fillet Which is a super fine sawdust like filler designed to mix with epoxy and thicken it which looks better than sawdust sands better than sawdust and I think it’s just overall superior to CA glue, which I don’t trust to be strong in the long run sold by West company to their boaters customers who use it to get a few more years out of Weatherwood by filling in all the cracks

Definitely have a few gallons of fast and slow set epoxy in the shop and don't disagree with you, I have not seen either one fail yet in the environment so I can't say for sure which lasts longer. Cheers.

Would wood filler be OK?
@JeffEstesBuilds4 ай бұрын
Not for a check or true split in the grain. Usually a significant check requires a key or inlay crossing grain direction to terminate the advancement of the split. Usually holes and knots only for filler.

will this hold a miller 110 mig, and a large tank? This might exceed it's weight rating

Not sure what the weight on that unit is but on the tank 125-300 size your looking at 62-134 lbs give or take. To be honest I don't know its weight rating but might bump up a size in carts based on how this one moves around the shop....lil Bambi legged.

I remember my father's old mazda b2000 that had rusted floor boards as bad or worse than i seen here. He replaced them with the outer jacket from an old water heater, and held it together with rivets. 🤣 Better than braking Fred Flinstone style. 😂 He drove it until the metal around both hinges on the door rusted off. 🤣

I think if you’re building products or a professional welder, you’d need a proper welding table. I look at this as a home handyman welding table that is used occasionally. It isn’t meant for heavyweight, professional welding .
@JeffEstesBuilds8 ай бұрын
No argument there, it is indeed a great table for home, hobby and DIY use. In our metal shop we welded our own tables and had the tops cnc cut with holes for clamps and locks. For the backyard builder though sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I will say it makes a fantastic catch all for your metal tools 😂
