How would I open the trunk where I have a big battery booster? If the battery is dead.

Video calls for positive to be connected to the battery, and also to the metal ground. The visual was correct but the audio was incorrect.
@Greggsr219
@Greggsr219 3 жыл бұрын
If you connect a red lead from jumper cable to positive side of battery...and then connect the other red lead to the metal ground, you will likely blow up your battery among other things this is very dangerous. NEVER put your head or face over a battery when working on it or jumping your vehicle off....of any kind. I think some of the confusion here might be in using jumper cables verses battery charger/quick start. Jumper Cables will have a positive lead (usually red) and a negative or ground lead (Usually black)...The charger will usually just have a positive and negative lead coming out of the unit. With Jumper Cables...One end of Red goes to Positive on the dead Battery and the other end of the red/positive goes to positive side of source battery. .Positive will have a (+) sign on battery post or close to it. ... With The Negative or ground lead (usually black), It goes on the Negative or ground side, of Dead battery denoted by a minus (-) sign. and other end to the Negative side of Source. You may be able to use an alternate ground utilizing the car frame or bolt , but it has to be a good ground. With a Charger / Quick Starter...Red lead goes to Positive side of Battery, Black Lead goes to negative side. Using another vehicle as power source, make sure engine is running..., with battery charger, make sure it's plugged in and you have it set to correct output. You may have an option to charge slowly or start quickly. If you are charging the battery, let it charge, if you are jumping it off via charger, set it to quick charge or start. With leads correctly connected, attempt to start vehicle, though you may have to let it charge a few minutes, especially in winter. After your vehicle starts...remove the Red/Positive cable from your vehicle first, then from donor or source battery. Then safely grounds. ...The reason is to keep sparks to a minimum. Batteries emit volatile gas from the reaction of Acid and the Plates inside battery. As a young man, i came inches from being killed or horribly wounded when my battery blew up while I was attaching cables. It blew the top of the battery off which went about 50 ft or more into the air. My face and chest were soaked with acid. That's also why it tells you "No Smoking or Open Flames" around a battery. Sorry for the lengthy message. I just wanted it to be absolutely clear with the process. When you are working with Batteries, you are working on a potentially explosive environment. Always keep that in Mind. Good idea to have a water hose handy..and once again...NEVER PUT YOUR FACE or HEAD OVER TOP OF BATTERY. Safety Goggles are also a great idea...

Hey dummy that is not where you put the plug for the ground. There’s legit a spot above the drivers side headlight that says GND. Based on your info I would’ve looked like an idiot letting my car charge. This video is fake news

Is it shaped like every other GM ground and labled GND? Just asking if I have to help somebody out with one of these cars. I'm familiar with the ground on the Acadia near the strut bolts.

When you say the power went away. Did it go dead when you used the key fob? My 2013 is completely going dead at time's. Nothing would work. Then after 30 min , my alarm would sound and everything would go back to normal

The lexus grill is just plain weird but it's exterior design is a big improvement over previous gen. The caddy now has the proportions that lincoln got right back in 2007 with its mkx. Fuse the two..caddy interior lexus quality. Lol
