RIP Steve. It was their second album Leave Home that got me into the Ramones, my brother just happened to have a copy of it. It's still my favorite of theirs, a little more confident sounding and better produced than the first, if not as strong a collection of songs.

For me, it's all about Johnny Ramone and Chuck Berry. A large part of who I am is due to those two gentlemen.

The overrated Albini had a band called Rapeman. A band name many of us do not consider cool, clever, funny or cute. That name alone should be enough to discredit this self-important cave man permanently. I also saw nothing special about whatever he did for Nirvana on In Utero.

My introduction to the Ramones was from the PS2 game Burnout 3 Takedown. It had the best soundtrack. Alot of those ps2 games shaped my taste in music. The tony hawk pro skater games and what not.

I remember when someone gave me a Black Flag cassette back in the 80s. I played it until it wouldn't play any more and then went to see the Ramones. Just for a laugh I went back and tried to listen to a Van Halen song. It was like eating unsweetened vanilla ice cream after you've had rocky road and I never looked back.

Dude, I did something similar when I was 12. I bought a Def Lepard album and was pissed. The music did not match the t-shirts I saw. Then someone gave me Circle Jerks ‘Golden Shower of Hits’ and it was raw and accessible. Then I discovered Crass, and it’s the only punk I still listen to today. That and Flux of Pink Indians.
