I always skip this part of the dvd. Friggin terrible. I know Bob Geldoff is a talented enough guy but god his music sucks

I've seen him in concert 3 times, and he's actually amazing, but I have to agree that this particular performance shows nothing of that potential.

First time I’ve seen this thanks for putting it up here. The band playing neat great interviews and smiles, think I’ve seen Bobs solo band about 8 times and the rats about 18. 👍🏼 🎵 One for me & Mudslide brilliant.

Do you still have the whole tv special? I’m working on a video for the 30th anniversary of the tribute concert for my channel and with all the other specials I came across from different stations, would love to include this one if you still have it.
@CathyMcNair3 жыл бұрын
Sort of? I recorded it all at the time (on VHS!), but later on, I only digitized the parts that weren't on the official DVD of that era - the performances of bands on their own (without the remaining members of Queen) and the clips / interviews like this one. Let me know if that 2 hours 15 mins of stuff is of interest.
@QueenAllTheWay3 жыл бұрын
@@CathyMcNair I’d be interested in the whole thing. How did you transfer your tape? Do you use a capture card or convert to DVD? Either one is fine, but if you ever consider parting with the tape itself, i'd be willing to pay for postage to the US and do my own transfer.

So I hear Roger and Pete were constantly at each others' throats. They just innately pissed each other off. So you have Pete slagging him off every chance he gets. Meanwhile I haven't heard anything from Roger. You'd think he could have slipped in a "Pete is a tosser" comment in this interview. Just a little one, barely noticeable.
@JonBecker813 жыл бұрын
He kept saying it’s unimaginable to lose a band member like Freddie but Roger was probably the only one who sang that show who really DID understand what it would have been like. Keith Moon was the star of The Who just like Freddie was the star of Queen.

Roger Daltrey talks about Freddie’s death and how it is for Roger, Brian and John and show it, like The Who were never in this situation! I mean, 1978 died Keith Moon and this was the end of The Who!

I used to chat to a friend of his that used to go to school with him he lived around the corner from me. Like Bob he was very different. I once told him about Jesus and why he should find him etc. He laughed like I was talking nonsense. That was a few years ago he’s dead now I hope God took him.

Indeed, back in 1992 it was relevant mentioning Brian, Roger and John together. Nowadays only John deserves to be mentioned. The other two are active enough in the media and speak more than enough. A lot ot talking, a lot ot publicity and zero creativity. Zero music. This concert, as well as ''Made In Heaven'' album, was the epitaph of Queen and it was so wrong to involve this name in substandard activities afterwards.
