I tried this a few seasons ago, in memory of my grandpa. Went back to his old stomping grounds, where he killed a bunch of bucks, and a few giants back in the 70's. The whole place was now covered in trucks, ATV's, trailers, and dozens of hunters. Made me kind of sad.

215 is doable with red dot or open sights, just not as accurate as a scope. Still have the limitations of the weapon, now just greater likelihood wounding animals whether it is 70 yards or 200. The new rule was a mistake.
