Pretty sure I've been on most if not all of those roads a time or two, and that spot you stopped was the very first spot I ever moto camped. Excellent roads in the area, and great spots to camp. The dead ends are always worth exploring, you never know what will reward you at the end. Great video, thanks for sharing!

It was a long day, and some real hot portions. Still very doable. Big push day since we were behind schedule.

I love to camp off my bike... been doin' it for decades 'cowboy style'. A couple of tips to consider... First, drape the rainfly over the ridge line. It supports the tarp better. Second, buy a 8'x4' piece of Tyvek for s ground sheet. It packs lighter and smaller. Tyvek is cheap & durable, and works great. I don't venture too far off the pavement with my Harley, but like you I'm limited to two saddlebags, so space is a premium. After each trip, I review what I needed, used, and didn't need... I usually only make some coffee in the morning, instant espresso, then eat local, along the way. I'll look for more of your videos... Love your bike. Ride Safe!

Excellent explanation. Thank you for sharing this. I recently purchased a CAT and have learned to use it. I'll also be adding a couple quikclot pads, as I now take anti-platelet meds and bleeding is a concern. My only critique is your placement of the kit itself. In a situation while riding alone, and dropping the bike, and needing to get to the kit to treat myself, I'm possibly not going to be able to lift the bike. Keeping the kit on the rear carrier seems like a good solution.
@bobbytopadventures
@bobbytopadventures 5 ай бұрын
This is my second placement. I tend to drop the bike on the left side. This, however, is why I keep the tourniquet, trauma sheers, cravats, and Garmin on my person. Separating from, or being pinned under, the bike is a true concern. Get trained up on the quikclot also. You really need to apply to the source of the bleed. I completely understand your concern about that. It is why every kit is different and based on individual needs. Best of luck, thanks for watching, and I hope you don't have to use your kit!!

I bet that felt good getting back out again. The new format will probably work better for more viewers. I myself would rather produce less talking in the videos as well, but I think talking videos do better unless you can get into the ASMR niche.

I use the system year round, but much of it depends on how it is used. I generally change it out every 4-6 months. 3-4 months if used to actually filter river or lake water and 6 if it has been clean water for most of it's life.

Hey Bobby, looks like a great camp spot. I like your hammock setup! If you're trying to start a fire out here in the PNW, look for old cedar stumps, or logs. They'll almost always be bone dry just under the surface, even if the top layer looks slimy and gross. I've made some great fires out of stuff that most people would walk right past 🙂

That was the plan. I was using the fire to dry it out, but would have put it in the tarp with me (where my bag was) when done for the night. Just didn't make it that far.

Interesting video, thank you for sharing. Zip ties, my preferred connection is a constrictor knot. The knot is tied with either twisted Bankline or mason line.

That was a chili ride into camp 😮 And your tarp setup was pretty sweet, especially the woobie liner idea, understood its purpose as soon as I saw it 👍 I was wondering why no tent under the tarp, but I guess we don't need to worry about little buggers this time of year 😉
