Here's a question that's been on my mind for a long time. Is the rest of the part in the front of the steam engine white or grey? it seems to me that the rest of the Hiawatha but not the parts that are orange and red I'm talking about the part that's grey. I don't know if it's true but is it white or grey?

It must have been something spectacular and amazing for those folks who seen the Hiawatha running the Rails at over 100 mph back in the day of Steam.

I like this Hiawatha, he whistle sounds like the Commadore vanderbilt's whistle and the bells sounds like this is on a pull and push train as if this is a battery powered model train.

The 20th Century Limited never saw the inside of Penn Station, only that of Grand Central.
@Railoffroader24 жыл бұрын
Looks nothing like Penn Station. The track map shown looks like Grand Central Terminal where New York Central ran. Penn has no loop tracks and never has. #1 thru 4 tracks are stub ended at their eastern ends.
@tomb45754 жыл бұрын
True, I recognized that layout immediately. Penn was a Station Grand Central a Terminal, why would NY Central trains be parked at Penn Station, that would be like Arriving into JFK on a Pan Am flight and deplaning at the TWA Terminal.

I've been modeling this in HO. Or I SHOULD Say I've been re-building/re-working a Rivarossi Hudson F7 4-6-4 Hiawatha that I got for cheap off of e-bay because the original owner's young son dropped it. The body is cracked and needs extensive repairs, however in studying the ORIGNAL Milwaukee Road Hiawathas I noticed that Rivarossi did ALOT of things wrong! So... before I fix it I decided to obtain Original B&W Pics of the Original "Blueprints" so I can "Correct" the flaws that Rivarossi did. I've also obtained MUCH better Scale Decals AND paints. I haven't worked on it in some time but will again this fall/winter. I also replaced the tender's original trucks with MUCH more Accurate ones in metal kit form. This will be a VERY Special train when finished as it will be dedicated to my Dad who got to ride the REAL Ones from Milwaukee to Chicago and back visiting relatives during Holidays and Vacations! :D

Station announcements are wav files that I have recorded and placed on the "station computer." Each locomotive wears a bar code and the bar-code number is the name (actually, the number) of the wav file (followed by a bat file suffix), which is read by a bar-code scanner on the station platform.. I have a piece of computer software that runs the bat file and plays the wav file over loudspeakers in the station, I hope I've made this clear.
@daybeers11 жыл бұрын
No, I meant the station announcements that say "Amtrak's Acela is now boarding on Track 1"
@woodynj11 жыл бұрын
You mean the on-train announcements such as "Please stand clear of the closing doors?" Those are built into Lionel's Acela hardware (and are digital recordings of the actual announcements on the Amtrak Acela). Siimilarly, the announcements on the Pennsylvania GG1 are built into the Lionel engine and are controlled by Lionel's TMCC hand-held controller. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for your posting. No catenary in the forseeable future on this line, but I'm building a "Lackawanna MU electric" line, with a huge Hoboken terminal and yard (ferryboats, too) and tracks out to Summit and the west. If I wire an overhead line, this will get it first, but it will be a HUGE amount of work. Any volunteers to help?

I love electric locomotives! GG-1's, AEM-7's, ect...but I do not have one because it is too much work to run them as you should:CANTANARY! Are you planning to add operational cantanary to your layout????
@BNforever200911 жыл бұрын
as fast as that train came out the station and on the switches, I thought it was gonna derail then. Those trains look like they were going as fast as NASCAR race cars especially around those tight curves.I dont model O scale, HO scale. Nice video though.

I live about a half an hour away from Milwaukee, and I don't own a single Milwaukee Road model. You're extremely lucky to own three Milwaukee Road locomotives, and for that I'm jealous.

It had something of the air of London's great railway terminals, except that New York Penn tended towards ancient Roman architecture while London's terminals favor Gothic architecture.
