I just bought a diesel heater but not this one. Riveted cover was a deal breaker for me because you will need access for maintenance (e.g., the fan bearings will likely fail in the near future and you may need to check for fuel leaks) and having to drill out the rivets to get inside is ridiculous. Total fail IMO.. I bought one made by LF Bros. A diesel heater is a great idea though for a small un-heated workshop though.

Brilliant for surprise and evasion can give you a tactical advantage in situations. Luckily, I've always been able to avoid dangerous situations, but it's handy to know there is a reliable self defence tool if I have a lapse in situational awareness and intuition.

I have the Hcalory version of this heater. This afternoon I totally disassembled mine to replace fuel lines and add a filter. Everything comes right out of the top. No need at all for drilling out rivets. I have had 6 diesel heaters of various designs and like this one best of all of the ones that I have had. Good video, thanks for sharing.

Yea, the rivets are a bad idea servicing wise, because at some point you will need to get inside.

First time visiting your channel and I thoroughly enjoyed the content, style and editing. All that I needed and would have asked myself when looking at this smart little heater. I run a small fan heater designed for greenhouses in my workshop, I wonder how the running costs would compare? Great work fella, will be back for more.

I enjoy your videos. You're work is really first rate. You might want to consider doing something to stop the fuel tank from sliding around in the compartment so you don't have any wear on the fuel line.

Thank you, I had wondered what are those 22 ml, stand for the pump, looks like it's either the volume per 1000 pulses or sellers advertise pumps in milliliters instead of microliters for some reason. Knowing that I can calculate that my 2 kW heater with stock "22" pump should be able to run a bit over 10 hours on a full 2.5 L tank at highest 3.0 Hz setting, more than enough for a full night, probably I'd have to worry about a battery first. By the way there are couple of models of pumps on the market, the "22" seems most common, but there are also e.g. 16, 18 and 28 pumps available.

7:00 Always create a closed loop system and never make the heater suck outside air. This way youre pushing heaps of moisture from outside into your RV. Especially on cold, rainy days. Apart from that: Extremely nice and tidy work, sir. Best regards from a camper van guy from germany!
@TheWrinklyNomads
@TheWrinklyNomads 16 күн бұрын
Hi Chris Thanks for you comments. I have done quite a few tests on outside V inside air and found that there is very little temperature drop in outlet heat until you get below 8degs, although there is an increase in warm up time. Therefore I run a closed loop in the colder months, to specifically prevent moisture, by blocking the air inlet and ducting from the habition area. This essentially negates any moisture issues that may occur. It's been a few years since this install and I'm very happy with it so far. I have also upgraded to an 'almost silent' pump since then. This one: amzn.to/4eW2s53 and that made a great improvement. Thanks for watching 👍

Very strange but possible... 1/ is it mounted on it's side - if so fuel inlet should be on top. 2/ if its an old instal - check pump as it may be worn inside - better still renew with this 'silent' pump, you will love it! amzn.to/4eW2s53 3/ look up 'How to tune a Chinese diesel heater' on google - it may be way over fueling or even other issues. Hope this helps 👍

How does the thermostat work if you use the unit outside and pipe in the hot air via a duct into the room
@TheWrinklyNomads

Not possible to control via thermostat when outside unless you extend the controller. You can set it using 'gear mode', basically 1 through to 10, which for a workshop, works very well.👍

Good review, thank you. I have a 'briefcase' one & have used it to heat a 23sq/ft area (four rooms) for a year or so now ..... I love it. The design of yours is an improvement as the exhaust outlet has a 90 degree bend already in it whereas mine requires the flexible exhaust to be bent at 90 & it projects out from under the heater which means that you have to build a stand to raise the heater on. All in all much the same but would prefer yours due to the thought put into the design. Diesel heaters are great if used correctly & understand how to get the best out of convected heat as opposed to radiated heat. Thanks again.
