I have an 8535-IV DCLP. When thermostat cycles it onn the fan is not starting. There's a buzz/clicking sound and then everything quits with a Fault Code indicatin "limit switch or airflow problems". Checked the sail switch with the VoM & it's good. Haven't tested the limit switch yet, but from your videos, I'm gathering that if the fan isn't running, it hasn't proceeded to the point where the limit switch would yet be a factor. Is that correct? What else should I be checking?

Still check the limit switch, but it sounds from your description that it might be the relay one the board giving up.

Thanks. I finally got back to working on the furnace and first tried to start it again. The fan did not start. When I checked the circuit board for the fault code, it was a continuous, slow blink. I can't find that described anywhere. Do you know what it indicates? I turned off the thermostat and the relay at the furnace. When turned back on, the flashing started immediately.

Thanks for the video. I have been working through diagnosis. This video has proven pretty helpful, but I am still stuck with a furnace that won't turn on. It was working fine, and then the next day, just wouldn't get going at all-no attempt to fire up, bow, click. Nothing. Seem to have power at the thermostat and tested the switch, after resetting it and it won't go. I am getting a new sail switch, but the one that's in there, seem to be flapped open and away from the tripping device, so I don't know if that is my problem? I am also getting no light on the circuit board. Any insight on how to proceed or potential confounding aspects would be appreciated.

As long as the sail switch and high limit switch are good I would start leaning towards the board

How do you disassemble the model with the gas pipe coming over the top of the heat exchanger end of the furnace? Just swing it around to unscrew it?

I live alone in my unit year round, in northern alberta, therefore I have learned alot about maintenance of unit. The furnace however made me uncomfortable ... until I found your videos. I had to thank you for being so helpful in your explanations and video shots, even if a little shaky, 😊. I am confident in some of the repairs and also knowing my limitations. With thanks, keep up the good work.

This is actually the best video on Atwood furnaces on youtube. You basically told me that if the gas is turning on but I do not hear the igniter working, then it is a problem with the igniter itself. So I assume that an igniter can actually go bad.

Yes they can or it still can be a board issue.

First off, great video!. I have an Atwood 8520. I have switched the board between both units and I still cannot get the rear to click on. The relay does not click and the fan does not start. I have power to the board. I verified that the fan does work on 12 volt power but I cannot get this unit to start the fan...

Very good video for this furnace. I used a crowfoot for the gas regulator fitting. Problem is, the threaded opening for reinstalling the fitting somehow got damaged, so the fitting will not go back on. Such soft metal.

My Atwood 8940 III DCLP starts, ignites, lights and runs for a few seconds then repeats until lockout. I've checked, limit switch, sail switch and igniter, all check good. I could really use some insight of what to check next. Only light flashes I get are when it locks out.

I've seen where you mentioned this would likely work on wood/Styrofoam combo. I've been looking from underneath contemplating adding supports when I found your video. Question is, I do see the floor move (push down) when someone walks on a problem spot. Is that what this is helping with in general or should I keep looking at adding supports here? Thanks for the video btw!

Need some help here so I did check the sail switch and limit switch with multimeter like in first video and both are working. I turn on the heater and it just blows cold air no heat not sure if it’s not igniting I do here a click a little after the blower comes on and the click comes back again few times but no heat at all. Could it be the ignitor itself or gas line or could it even be the Thermostat that’s not working properly. The heater was working on the unit prior and was working fine all of a sudden just stopped working and only blew cool air Anyone who can help me out point me to direction go now since I know both switches are working

Well, after turning it on, mine would work OK until we went to bed. THEN, I would get up to pee and it would be like 30 in the Rv. The thermostat would be set just fine. I troubleshooted the silly POS but when I was pricing a part I found I could buy an entire brand new CORE furnas (that which slides into the metal sleeve) for $398. its on its way. Some things just aren't worth the hassle. !
