Having a total brain freeze at the moment about mounting this. I have a Loaded Dervish which is a drop through. Do I need to drill extra holes to mount this? The base of the stick mount is too small to go round the top plate of the trucks (they are Paris trucks) so do I remove the top plate of the trucks and use the base mount instead? It looks like the only way but I don’t want to mess my board up.
@lblazevskaАй бұрын
Scratch my question - feel a bit daft as truck ‘top plate’ is very much part of truck so not dispensable😂 - just mounted on top of the trucks.
@ZENxTENincАй бұрын
yes.. with the rubber to protect the trucks.. should work pretty good on the dervish.. good deck.. Would love to see it.

What about length, I saw an Amazon comment saying he was 6’ and it was too short. Also I know my wife would like to take it out as well and my kids. Can you adjust the height? Thank you
@ZENxTENinc5 ай бұрын
its fully adjustable so latest model is just over 6' more like 6' 3".. those folks do not understand the concept of this paddle. other paddles that do not have the spring need to be long to get any distance from pushing as far behind them as they can. tbis paddle is better shortee, spring loaded and energy released closer to you maybe 1 or 2 feet behind you max.. this keeps the traction down and energy able to push you. so yes all of you can ride with it.. maybe get a skate mount only to go with it so anyone who wants more balance can skate with ease...

They ride really well.. I have a vid where I roll over everything and through rocks and more. The big wheels make it super safe and fun to ride because I do not need to look at the road conditions as much for those small rocks or cracks.

We do a LOT of tubing on our local lakes during the summer, and I've been looking for something like this. I've envisioned something about 3-4 feet ahead of the tube, using the max lens mod 2.0, that records the video. The rope we use for tubing looks somewhat larger than the rope in your video. Do you think your system would work for tubing using a GoPro 12 Black? If so, TAKE MY MONEY! LOL!
@ZENxTENinc7 ай бұрын
Yeah tubing shots are super fun.. If you sent me a picture / measurement of the diameter of your rope I could make custom parts to make it work for sure. its most likely close to 3/4 inch rope..

@ZENxTENinc7 ай бұрын
Ahh thanks for asking yeah unless you know it would not make much sense.. Land paddles are used with longboards / skateboards. Great for fitness its like SUP on land. Can help folks who have balance issues or limitations with their legs that want to skate. There are other options as well but those are the main things.

Cool video!! Thanks for posting. I bought the original Kahuna Big Stick thirteen years ago. It had a road-grip t-base that two heavy rubber donuts were mounted on (actually sourced from marine oar stops available from Sawyer Marine in Portland). Then Kahuna ceased production of the original design to go with the absolutely horrible rocker-shoe road-grip. As my Big Stick started to fall apart because of crappy construction, I was desperate to replace it with the same design and better construction. So, I measured all the dimensions of the paddle. Then I went to a wood craftsman and he made me a beautiful paddle out of hickory for the two meter shaft and African padauk for the t-grip handle and road-grip t-base. Indestructible, beautiful, and for something as rhythmic as longboard land paddling, wood is simply supreme. I am confident that with good stroke technique, this style of paddle will out perform the paddles you showed in the video. Plus, once you fully develop paddling technique, the wood paddle is as much joy in your hands as the longboard is underfoot. Pure delight. I'm currently arranging the construction of a new paddle out of bubinga wood. It's a little harder wood than hickory, but WAY more durable and beautifully grained and colored. I only use wood paddles now, and that's all I have used for the past ten years. Using metal and synthetic paddles is like having sex with a fembot from Austin Powers' fame 🤔😉. While bamboo is preferred for my board, I've found it too flexible for paddling. Part of this is because my paddle technique (over 15,000 kilometers of paddle experience) is a pressure versus sweep stroke. I can explain pressure stroke to anyone interested. If you are interested in a free copy of my spec drawing for my paddles, just hit me up at [email protected]. Thanks again for posting a great comparative test and analysis. Rock on man, but don't quit rolling!

Ahh yeah its a great way to get around paddlin a board.. I try to stick with SUP stroke techniques so I need the flex in the spring to give me the ability to do that. Post some pictures of your paddles would love to see them.
