He got hit in the Eye and still the question he asked is "Did we Get her". That is some serious training. At times i feel we need to make Military training mandatory so that we know what they go through.

How did US troops know that they are not part of enemies and ignored them if they weren t (asuming from later conversation) in communication with captain or something?

The actress who plays the mother fulfilled such a critical role in this masterpiece of a film. As the one officer initially points out to the general, and as some of Miller’s troops later say themselves, the idea of sending a unit on a wild goose chase into enemy territory during one of the the most critical parts of the war does absolutely seem inadvisable, if not even foolish. But that mother’s reactions, combined with the brilliant soundtrack of course, is essential in selling the rest of the story to us, the audience. We understand how important that mission is, despite how objectively unproductive it might be, because we see her anguish, we relate to it, and we need to know she doesn’t have another terrible morning with a car coming up that driveway.

These men and the people they left behind at home gave up everyting to give us peace and a Democtratic way of live. What are we doing now? I feel that these principles have now been FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. With all the termoil that is now going on it seems to me WE have forgotten the Sacrifice these people gave.

A lot of the time, police officers are tasked with knocking on people's doors and informing them that relatives or loves ones have died in one way or another. I personally have not told or been told that a relative has died as or from a police officer. But dear god would that basically be painful for both the giver and the reciever.

Watching this scene when the movie first came out as a young single man and then watching it again with 2 sons who are starting to think about the rest of their lives hits totally different. I pray for our leaders every day, democrat or republican.

The only thing faker in this scene than the idea of the Navy doing a in the nick of time covert rescue while displaying old glory, is the idea that 7-10 bad guys successfully take shelter from multiple convergent 50-bmg, M134s, 30-cal, and small arms fire behind a Bronco and an F-250.😂
