"Bruiser" is right. I still remember the scars that a poor sweet dummy with a birthday death wish showed me at work one day. He explained that this was during the rut, & he squared up with it ... for fun. Life flights are expensive, folks. Don't try to play rough with the megafauna.

Anchorage is warmer in the winter than some places in the continental U.S. such as Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota - including Minneapolis. However, the winters are dark because of how far north it is, and summers are cloudy and cool (high temperatures only average in the low-to-mid 60s). It’s not so much that it’s an unusually cold place; it’s more that it just never gets warm.
