Bought this ceramic kit this summer. It is a fantastic upgrade. Couple tips. Use about half the amount of charcoal as normal when starting off. The ceramic insert holds heat and transfers it very efficiently. Deflector is great option, I use it about half the time. When I use rotisserie with the insert a whole chicken cooks super fast. Definitely a fuel saver, I'm guessing 40% less conservatively. The bowl of my Weber is also a lot cleaner than normal now, the heat turns everything into ash and sweeps right out. I am definitely going to cover my deflector in foil, it's great at catching juices and giving some live fire flavor but it's dirty as expected.

I purchased one of these, but sadly the bottom has separated after only 6 weeks and a few uses. Maybe, look at the quality control of the product.

I want to know how you made the double grill set up. Did you make a video of that under another channel? I have the cart but, I would like to know what you kept and what you cut out,

Thanks for the link to the drip pan--i've always used foil, and this looks way more convenient. It's always been my practice when cooking a spatchcock bird to put the leg end toward the coals, breast end in the back and don't rotate.

I have just purchased one of these along with the Contoured Stainless Steel Char-Basket and a the Non-Stick Ceramic Coating Grill Grate, they all work well together, but it is a shame that you do not offer all 3 as a bundle.

Shouldn't you put the stone on WHEN you add the coals? I read placing a pizza stone to a HOT GRILL can crack it.
@onlyfireoutdoor56213 ай бұрын
It would help if you preheated, which means putting stones in when you add the coals, you are right

Are the holes big enough to let the ash out and air in, as they look a bit small?

I’ve bought a Weber Performer. Haven’t used it yet as we are waiting to move house. I already have the OnlyFire rotisserie ring and the smaller pizza oven for my 47cm so might give this a go too.

I have had that attachment for years its nice on lighter weight things but balancing the trays right can be a pain. The trays will dump your food if you move it wrong.

Same here. I am in the process of restoring a used Performer. I wish there will be 17" diameter stones in the future for those big briskets.

First cook, about a chimney of Kingsford using the snake method, went at 250°, for 6 hours after adjusting vents, never touched again. Ribs were perfect and had a little less than half of the coals still unlit. Over a lifetime of use will easily pay for itself in less charcoal used.

I have the one on the left and works great once I got past the learning curve. I want to try that new design though looks like it might use less fuel.

This all good, but, how did you get the "Helluva" flame you got going, when most of us grillers are trying to prevent that very thing, with the exception of experienced grillers, who want to how you got that very sort of flame, that high above your grates ?
