Before publishing your videos please check your sound level and quality. Compared to previous KZbin videos I just watched your sound is muffled with low volume to the point of unintelligibly

I don't know if it's true, but this video is in a time-lapse style. The scenes paced so fast that I couldn't keep up with the excitement of nature, although I was very curious about the plants here. I want to see more

Here on the North end of Whidbey Island, WA, both Great Horned and Barred Owls are common. On 2 occasions while out walking my young Papillon pup, Barred owls made passes on Flyer. Both times the bird came close by my left shoulder from behind on a "dive bomb" run on the little dog, just missing him. Since we have both owls and eagles in the area, I always walk the dog on a least. On the first "owl assault" he went to a low tree limb about 15 feet away where we engaged in a staring contest for several minutes. The Barred Owls, though smaller than the Horned Owls, seem to be more aggressive. We see them often and their calls are eerie, starting with a couple of "clucks" and ending with the screech.

Thank you for watching, these videos are a work in progress. Papillons are super cute, their ears are awesome. Is that where flyer comes from? The Barred owl does indeed have a reputation for aggression, and although smaller than a horned owl, they are not what one would call a small bird. Here in Columbia County NY we live in a very isolated area and have an abundance of Great Horned Owls. I understand that further north these birds get larger, but our owls are giant. There are at least 5 or 6 in the area, one we see in the yard every day, it's huge. I talk to it. I often say it's probably stupid to provoke it but there's never been any aggression. They make the craziest sounds at night. And eat all the snakes during the day. It's their world. Peace.
