We had the great pleasure to listen to an evening of song from Jeff in the Lamb public house in Devizes Wiltshire a few years ago. He has a fine understanding of the “english” system concertina and a great voice to match. More of this please

Haven't heard this for full fifty years, when I last sang it in a primary school music lesson. Thanks for digging up this great old melody (and for the history of "cheerily"). Hilly-holly-hilly-holly-ho!

I missed this performance. There's something very meta about the creator of a song learning part of it in Polish.

Love the Morgans, and Don's voice had a soul like no other. He used to sing at church Sunday mornings when I was a kid, and it was a postively mytical and scared experience seeing Don strum his banjo and hearing his voice rise up to the heavens with such passion and verve. I've loved church ever since, loved music ever since, thanks to Don.

They gave us a ballast tank, so we could dive down deep, we sneak around real quiet-like, we never make a peep! Our shantey-man sings us all a whale of a tale, Instead of sails atop the mast, we've got masts up in the sail! - a submariner's verse

5 rows = Crane (aka Triumph) system concertina. A Maccann would have 6 rows. There are also Jeffries and Hayden (aka Wicki) layouts, as well as some others.

This is excellent :') I can't stop hearing the fuse conversation as Blackadder and Baldrick though, I dunno if that was intentional but it's a damn good impression hahah

Left to right, Tom Callinan, whistle; Tony Morris, fiddle; Chris Morgan, guitar; a newer than I recognize person (or Steve?); and Don Sineti, whose name I frequently misspelled. Fine guys they were! Add rest in peace to Don and any others who are not still with us.
