Rod, Interesting that Anna collects Singer sewing machines. My wife is a quilter. She loves her Singer Featherweight. I restore and maintain her machines. My mother had a Remington Rand full size desktop model which must be close to your Remington Rand Letter Riter. The finish and keys are very similar. You are lucky to have the original ribbon spools like my mother's Remington typewriter. Wind the new ribbon onto those spools and do not lose them. Most people do not have the original spools for their typewriters.

I have this machine but the ball will not come out, does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to fire the ball?

I have owned this game since 1990 and still love playing it. The gameplay remains challenging even after all these years. I hope to acquire a Bally Wizard game in the near future to sit side by side.❤

It’s pretty common for 3 of the 5 balls to end up draining without ever touching a flipper on this lol, truly brutal

Almost 50 years ago, a local diner had this game. I used to drink milkshakes while playing. I utterly dominated this machine, racking up endless free games.

Not gonna lie, the game itself look boring. I couldn't see myself playing it more than 15 mins and moving on. But the machine with the crate is awesome.

I remember this machine well. If it was set to be rather difficult to tilt, it was possible to get a bunch of extra points by jostling the machine at the exact time the drain hole solenoid activated to send the ball to the plunger. The ball would roll back and rack up another round of bonus points.

Hi! I have a Letter Riter and the serial number is on the metal bracket that holds the main guts of the typewriter within the outer metal case. On the left, at the top, on the inside. I can actually see it when you are asking people about where it is. :) Hope that helps.

There were several Gottieb machines, artwork done by Gordon Morrison that are worthy of the same title. They knew how to get your quarters through those slots. I was kinda hope'n for some closeup views of the backglass and playfield.

It's odd that the test switch amd volume control have been moved to the door, in the place where the coin box guard would be to protect the chips when empting the coins. Also, the blue gel on the screen shouldn't be there, but has been put on there as the grey polarising thick sheet is missing. This also explains why your card bezel isn't sitting properly, as there is no polariser to rest on.. Yes, I know it's 9 years ago since this was posted, but there's so few of us with Atari cocktails in our houses we need to keep taking to each other!!

In 1979 I used to play this after school in the "Orbit" arcade in Hunter Street Newcastle, not knowing at the time it was made only 3km away. Looking back they wasted a lot of potential on the right hand side, they should have had the lower J target up the top of a lane *where the plastic covers). it was almost like they built it to a budget rather than a design, ie you can only have seven targets, no more, and no drop targets! you can have three bumpers, three saucers and two spinners, now go see what you can come up with.

It's a very poor design. Thier 1st game Orbit 1 was even worse. They emproved with Howzat, Shark and Empire strikes back. But even then they used hybrid designs from established games. Like Empire strikes back is a cross between Bally Space Invaders and Williams Firepower.

I really like this machine. Here we had Gordon Morrison's artwork combined with me as a young teenager.....wishing I could climb into that backglass with those young ladies. I'm probably not the only one who felt that way.

Australian? If so, it was one of 262 "knock down kits" imported by LAI in Perth and assembled locally, it should have an LAI serial no plate on the rear of the backbox, cabinet was locally made in Perth. Interestingly yours does not have the mini post and rubber between the flippers, mine does and the one I played back in 1980-81 in Newcastle NSW did as well. I havent been able to determine who fitted the mini post on some Australian machine, I suspect it was the Newcastle manufacturer and distributor "Hankin"
@RodsPinballVideos
@RodsPinballVideos Жыл бұрын
Yeah it was definately an LAI model. Never seen one with post between flippers. I'm thinking it would make it super easy, as it's not a very brutal game to begin with.

Played it recently, it’s meh. Would’ve been a way better game if they just used normal measurements instead of a wide body. If everything was closer together it would’ve been a lot better.
