12 years have passed... I just saw it again now and cried my eyes out like a damn freak... My husband asks me why the hell I cry like that at a movie... God what a role and what a master performance Tom could do... Incredible... What a heart breaking movie...

This is probably one of my favorite performance from Tom hiddleston Tom play both Emotion in this character guy who can be very charming and next minute later he not charming he can very toxic just love how tom hiddleston play this character he so underrated in my opinion

The movie "The Innkeepers" is a one of best thriller/horror movies over the last decade, well written, excellent work of the camera, director, great acting, such interesting characters, such a beautiful music, without overdose pointless of jumps scenes and so on and so on.

A masterpiece of absolute, irremediable tragedy... not quite of Shakespearean dimensions, but true to its title. The acting is impeccable, each individual is as driven as the heroine Hester, all fates are implied by the personalities of the characters. Totally credible, significant drama. A period piece that transcends all periods for its legible treatment of the human condition. A searing experience. 👏👏👏

It's a wonderful cast, with beautifully judged performances. Terence Davies captures the mood of the times perfectly. It's biggest flaw however is the director's odd decision to virtually remove the character of the "doctor". The doctor who we believe has been struck off from helping with abortions - when abortion was illegal in Britain - is also an outsider who has lost his place in society much like Hester Collier. But he is the one person who helps Hester survive; he acts almost as her therapist albeit telling her the harsh truth and provides the devastating retort when Hester says "I can not live without hope". His reply: "Without hope there is no despair' is one of Rattigan's most famous lines. Terence Davis for some inexplicable reason removed all this from his film treatment.

Weisz is indeed so luminous! She recv the NYFCC best actress in 2012 beating JLaw, Chastain n Riva, n recv ano nom fr the Golden Globes but did not repeat at the Oscars. But I'm shocked tt she was totally ignored by BIFA n Bafta, her home turf!! Not only her, Colman was also snubbed at Bafta the same yr for Tyrannosaur! 😱
