The Oil Sump plug is 19 mm the Oil cooler is 27 mm. The vertical strut is 13 mm each end.

Great idea.. but everyone assumes the bushing is left just hanging there.. but not always the case. what can you do if there is no bushing to fill that hole

I could only suggest making a bushing up, but I would worry it would just slip off. If the link was a ball joint connector then maybe weld a penny washer on to the cable eye and drill out the hole to just under the width of the ball joint. Then heat it and hammer over? From memory the bushing was fairly well fixed to the gearbox linkage. I bought a replacement cable but never found the time to take the exhaust off to fix it. If I do I will update.

I had the same problem on my Cannondale for over a year as no local bike shops could sort it. I bit the bullet and bought a GCU cable (£125 😮) and fixed the problem myself by updating the firmware.

I regret buying an eBike online, their solution whilst in warranty was to have the bike couriered back to them. That's an expensive cable, I suspect it will cost a similar amount for me.

Pretty much the same issue here. I've put up with having to only charge the battery to 90% for the last year for fear of the pink flashing light. I would also recommend getting a timer plug so that you don't run the risk of forgetting the charger is on! Yes it was expensive cable but it updated the joystick firmware as well as the internal battery firmware. If there are any further updates then if you have the cable it will be an easy solution. No spare parts for the X35 system seem to be cheap 😩

You also need the Mahle app to figure out the state of charge and error codes

@@Toms_Short_Movies thanks. Sounds really annoying. I’ve just ordered a bike with the same system and am hearing it’s a fairly common problem that usually requires a firmware update. Hope you get it sorted.

I've not tried spraying anything. It struggled with a cut off tool that was 6 CFM but it's only rated at 5 CFM. I've since bought a SIP air receiver 24l to double the capacity. Ideally go for the 50l 1500w, I bought the smaller one due to price and running off an inverter. It pressures to just over 100psi at recharges at 80psi. I think air guns run at a lower pressure, but are thirsty. Short answer, probably okay for a few small jobs but not a long term solution.

How do you connect it to the air compressor to double the capacity?

Does this 24l air compressor work well to respray on small car bodywork like the bonnet, wing and roof using with LVHP spray gun?? I'd love to know!

I was going to fix it properly, but I realised the exhaust needs to come off and lots of fiddling about underneath the car. My fix still works since posting, but I am more gentle changing gear.

Just pre bend the metal a bit before you slot it in to make it easier. I cable tied it since then and it is still working a year later

It's just cut from 1mm steel. I put the dimensions in the description. If you're in a jam you might be able to cut up a can and hold in place with cable ties.

Thanks for doing your video. I'm currently having a problem with my rf600. Gets to around 4000rpm then fuel starvation kicks in. I've tried a couple of pumps and same problem. Carbs are in great condition after rebuilding them. Sadly I haven't been able to get a manual . But now I know the cdi sends pulses. I think that might be my next check. I've got 2 rf600's so I will swap them. It's my first bike with a fuel pump. I did actualy strip the pump and all was ok. I thought the diaphragm had torn or something. Cheers. Ade

It might be worth posting your problem on the RF forum. I got a pdf service manual for my 900 on there. It might be an ignition advance problem if it's 4000rpm. mine didn't have a restriction on revs with faulty pump it just stopped running after a few minutes and the carb bowls ran dry.

@@Toms_Short_Movies I'm on the rf owners site. I will ask there for one. Don't know why haynes never made a manual for it though. If I get time I will swap the cdi over today. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again. Ade

Hopefully they can help you on there. Worth doing a checklist to work out the fault. Does it stop at 4k in neutral, perhaps leave it a day for the carb bowls to gravity fill l, then perhaps ride off straight after starting and see if it stops at 4k. I'm not a mechanic, I just try to use logic and trial and error. Let me know how you get on.
