Nice job. I don't mess with carb cleaner much anymore on generator parts. Break them down and heat the parts with a torch. It burns off the nastiness in seconds. The fine ash that left brushes away very easily.

I’m looking to have a TT22, etc. in my ‘46 Champ (with no engine-driven electric system). I’m not an A&P but this video was very helpful so I get a general idea what my A&P will be doing. Of course I’ve gotta figure out what battery and where that’ll go. My A&P will not install a lithium battery and I agree. Seems hard part will be finding a suitably light lead acid battery… Thanks for the excellent video.

Hi Mike, hey can you share some guidelines on how to fly with a Dog? We have a toy poodle and he loves going where we go.
@1mbowen
@1mbowen 10 ай бұрын
I had really no problems traveling with my dog. Generally every airport was super friendly towards her. I didnt come across any that didnt allow dogs in, but on other trips i have noticed some airports had signs for not dogs. I did have to check that the hotel I stayed at briefly was dog friendly at Gaston’s and they were. The only issue I ran into was traveling just me and the dog, made getting food hard sometimes. Having to stay outside and try to order food to go. I did miss a few times getting to sit and relax over dinner a couple times. Camping with the plane and dog made it easier too because didnt need to try to get a ride generally. I ended up needing a shuttled to Gaston’s, but again they were super nice and ok with it. The tarmac was often hot and i did need to carry her sometimes. In the plane she was very docile, though she was strapped in too. I had her harness on and leash tied in a loop and the seat belt through the loop. On take off and landing i tightened the seatbelt and would loosen it while inflight. Have fun with your dog!

Thank you for sharing this video, Mike. When someone says one of these Coke machines needs a recharge... does that mean it needs a new bottle of Refrigerant 12, I 15 oz, think I saw on the machine? If so, do you know where you can get Refrigerant 12 15 oz for a USS-12-96? Is the one I'm looking at the USS, is it a US Coke machine, and yours in the video CSS is Canadian?
@1mbowen
@1mbowen 10 ай бұрын
Sorry I had missed your comment, If I'm not mistaken, CS is the bottle, round corner, forked gate. CSS is square corner, bottle, forked gate. USS is square corner, twist knob, bottle or can. The 12 in CSS-12-96 is for 12 shelves I think that's how it goes. Yeah it means a refrigerant recharge, I dont know if there is a port to refill with refrigerant or not. Mine i had a brand new system installed so its newer refrigerant.

Your lug nut torque seems much too high. The spec for my Honda is 80 lbf-ft. Did Tesla spec that amount? Perhaps you are confusing it with N-m. For instance the N-m spec on my Honda is 108.
@1mbowen
@1mbowen Жыл бұрын
The torque is indeed quite high. That is a good question. I suspect because the Tesla weighs significantly more than a Honda. www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_au/GUID-FDDB10EF-FFA9-46EB-B8CC-03614AE92B6B.html

What about version 2 with hinged and contoured clamps, that wouldn't fall out and adjust to the particular size? Perhaps a spring steel hoop could pressure-fit the clamps from below the surface.

Erik, The unit works terrific. I have had no issues at all, after the install I have not really even given it any more thought. I would not buy it again though, the size of the GPS unit under the dash is ridiculous. I believe now Microair may be offering a mor compact unit. One addition pro though is the integrated static pressure unit, no longer requiring the separate unit

If you know a back-packer, they can be a tremendous help in choosing the right gear. They are well versed in quality gear that works in the field as well as what to bring and more often than not, what NOT to bring. The difference between a "fun" trip and being miserable is often having a dry tent and a comfortable sleep system.
