Try using glass head pins to pin pleats, small seam allowances or other problem areas to the ironing board before pressing. There are also finger protectors that you can get to keep from getting burned when ironing.

Your dress 👗 is so cute and looks so nice on you! I have a suggestion for the facings: instead of using the wool fabric, use a thinner fabric such as cotton which would be sturdy enough to handle the movement of your arms and back. Happy sewing!

I like the cup area that’s a different design.. I think bras and corsets are hard to buy because not every bra is the same in same size making it harder to find one .. especially being dd.. this town goes up to c excited to make my own it’s better than good it’s amazing... definitely going to follow and make these I live regency wear and wanted to make this style

If you can’t get the awl in I wonder if you could start the hole with a tapestry needle so it doesn’t break or cut any of the threads?

Oh how I wanted one of these! It's a real dream, but I won't be able to fulfill it, my sick back hurts too much, my spine doesn't match anymore with seams or projects on the sewing machine. Beautiful piece, I loved it!

If you hand running stitche the seams between panels, it will be a lot stronger and you won't need the extra ribbon on the seams, if you want a cleaner look.

I have to pull my short stays out of 'time out' this month. I too have real-estate issues - plump, curvy, busty, short waisted, sway backed. I was new to sewing and thought making a myriad of adjustments on a tight fitting garment would be easy {insert laugh track... here}. When last we met, I increased the depth of the bodice, widened the circumference, shortened the straps and futzed with the gores. And added 1890's style boning to the bust just to help with... containment. Looking back, I'm probably closer to a proper fit than I think. And, like you, this was my first printed pattern. Yours look lovely. Well done. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

To answer your eyelet questions. Eyelets are one piece grommets are 2 piece. They are much stronger that way. They do come in standard sizes. I like 00 size for corsets.
