How thick is the cloth you are using as a base material?
@Forge_n_Brush28 күн бұрын
Only a few mm. Thinner the better, unless you want to really flock it up. You don't want it too thick. it needs to be bendable to better conform to things like hills.
@hankscorpio8928Ай бұрын
Amazing video. I’m just getting to 15mm. Do you do any pre-measuring for your table size and plot the amount of terrain you can have on it?
@Forge_n_BrushАй бұрын
Not really. I put together sizes that look about right. Of course, for skirmish type games - like Bolt Action - you would have lots more terrain on the table - or bigger pieces. Thanks, Hank. ~Fritz

Why are you making the rolls for the players? Is that a pf2e thing?
@Forge_n_BrushАй бұрын
They are called 'secret' rolls - where you don't want the player's to know what roll is being made - or don't want the result to be known.It's actually a common practice with many GMs and with many different RPGs. However, PF2e does mention this type of secret roll many times in the core rules for certain checks.

With so much 3d printing these days its refreshing to see this organic approach. I like the versatility you mention with shapes adopting neighboring surfaces instead of making a whole new part like the forest on a hill. I bet the results have a nice aroma. I'd probably throw in some raw incense. My mind is buzzing. Thank you!

Nice first look! :) If you update the Chat Portrait module, then the bug with missing space between words in the chat messages has been fixed. edit: It probably also fixes the text on the monster attack... anyway it's that module causing the text to appear in a strange way.

I have just got the Brandywine and Saratoga game. I put out all the American counters (took me ages but I learnt a lot while doing it) but there are only a few left over. So, I'm thinking I have some counters from the Saratoga campaign on this Brandywine map. I have two Sullivans and no Arnold. How do I know which counters are for the Brandywine map and which are for the Saratoga map please? If it was marked on the spru I'm screwed because I didn't get the counters off the spru. My helpful family enjoyed the popping the counters stage. I'm thinking it's something to do with the colour. Dark blue or light blue for the Americans makes me think they are for the different maps.
@Forge_n_Brush3 ай бұрын
There is a complete manifest for all counters somewhere in the books for the game. Have a look see. And yes, the frames state what battle each applies to, so you need to organize your counters per battle. Each scenario also lists the exact counters involved, so that might help as well. ~Fritz
@webbg63 ай бұрын
Right. I understand. The 'Manifest' is a page of pictures of the counters specific to Brandywine. The game I have is 'Brandywine Volume II' but it has Saratoga on the back of the board and contains pieces for Saratoga as well as Brandywine but no rules or Manifest for that battle. So, I guess, if I get hold of the Saratoga exclusive rulebook, I can play that battle too?

How does this compare to David Brown's new WW2 ruleset, "O Group"?
@Forge_n_Brush4 ай бұрын
Very similar. Both games play at the same scale and share quite a bit of the design philosophy. I recommend having a go with both, and even porting some rule elements over to the other, if you prefer one set. I would even say that '0 Group' is much like a NEW edition of PG Deluxe. Hope that helps. ~Fritz

The entire point of DBA in the DBx family of games is that it is dirt simple. If you want a more complicated/detailed set of rules there is DBMM, DBM and DBR. I hope they don't start complicating things just to make a buck.

I want to thank you for these videos. I am new to war gaming and this series caught my eye first because of my love for the Revolution. The scale of the battles from this period are much smaller than say the Civil War, so it also feels like a good series to start with. It is a little overwhelming learning the rules at first for a newbie like me, but seeing you give this step by step detailed example was not only entertaining but so informative. I'm learning this on my own so I've been reading the rulebooks bit by bit and your videos have been some of the most helpful I've found on here. Thank you again!!
