Okay, let's face it Major Spoilers + just a theory If Rimuru died, he would destroy the world with his death. Without him, no one has control over the four primadorals, who he evolved. He has Oni, hundreds of thousands of other evolved monsters, later twelve demon lords, true dragons, and many other extremely powerful beings who don't do anything because Rimuru ordered them not to. If Rimuru died, they would either destroy everyone else to avenge him, decide the world doesn't deserve to continue if Rimuru isn't in it, or even just take complete control over the world. Rimuru's death would literally be an apocalypse.
