Vivien Leigh was achingly beautiful. She was the most beautiful woman to ever grace the Silver Screen, probably the most beautiful woman in the last 2000 years. I fell in love with her when I watched Waterloo Bridge with my late Mother as a teenage boy. It left such an impression on me that I think it affected all my relationships with women because I never stopped looking for my Vivien Leigh. Alas, I never found her.

Admiro el temple de quienes cargan con la maldicion de la enfermedad bipolar, en tiempos en que no existian tratamientos. Vivian trabajó hasta el fin, sobrellevando esa enorme carga.mas tuberculosis.

I'm sure we all are entitled to our own opinions, but Eleanor Parker should have been included on this list. She was nominated for 3 academy awards for best actress in her career and one of the most versatile actresses of her generation. The fact that she didn't court publicity and chose to play roles that are very different from movie to movie, she did not gain that star power of her contemporaries. She was all about the acting and less about the fame.

I actually met Fred Astraire walking down the street in Beverly Hills. I was a teenager then, but will always cherish the 5-minutes he gave me, talking to this dumb kid like an old friend. Not only was Astaire one of the best dancers of the 20th century, but one of the kindest. RIP.

@@monicamayer883 I actually spotted him from behind, as he was walking away from me in a crosswalk. As I saw a man gliding across the street, his gait was unmistakeable, even from 50' away. I shouted out, "MR. ASTAIRE???" He suddenly stopped, then turned around walked all the way back to me!! I stood there with my mouth hanging open, but his smile was so warm and open, that I just began to make "small talk" with him, terrified, but trying to maintain my composure. He was the most humble, sweet man I have ever met... ever.
