I could be wrong, but I have the sneaking suspicion this was all planned. And no, I don't mean by Streibough, I mean by the demons. Specifically, by the false Lord of Dark. He kidnaps Alethea on the night Oersted is annointed her husband, and hides her away in a place no one expected nor knew where to find her, barring Streibough, who discovered it after the fight. He also masquerades as the Lord of Dark, which implies that he was filling in for Odio in some way...but maybe it was to set things up for his return. Not by ruinating the kingdom, but by creating someone who would act as Odio's vessel. Two of his lines are also rather suspicious; "In death, you'll understand my true design!" & "The Lord of Dark will never perish(?)". These might refer to a plan he had to revive Odio, who can never really be killed off since as long as there is negativity, he will live on & inhabit new vessels. Again, I could be looking into this too deeply, but what if the false Lord of Dark planned for Oersted to fall in the first place & become Odio's new vessel? Given how deceptive some demons can be, it wouldn't be all that surprising. If that's the case...then the false LoD could technically be considered the architect of everything that happened in this game, seeing as he brought about Odio's return.

The fact that Cube was taken into custody combined with OD-10's reveal music playing afterwards makes me think that the people who took him wanted to remake Cube into some kind of combat robot due to his advanced tech. I mean, the guy was clearly capable of combat & is very intelligent to have understood human emotion. People would want a bot like that for their armies. Which would fall in line with Odio's belief that humanity isn't worth protecting or saving.

Who would have thought that you had to chase them through the docks in a specific way? I did. After about 5 minutes of chasing them over and over only to get the same few cutscenes of them running some more. I hate when games make things needlessly frustrating for no added complexity/enjoyment in the actual game play 😪

I think what most look over is Oested messed over his best friend in the beginning, because yes "may the best man win". What they were implying was the princess and Streibough were hoping that Oested would do his friend a solid and throw the match so he they could be together, but Oested is so by the book and straight laced (also loved the princess) he didn't catch wind of any of this. The princess was doing all she did to please her father but in reality she loved Streibough as well. So as the game plays out, you really are the villian in two people's story, and they wanted the world to turn on him, as they felt he did on them. Bro was a tragic hero, but also an arrogant oblivious one as well.

Something tells me if the two had been just blunt with him, we could’ve avoided all of this. Streibough strikes me as the type to try and dance around requests, so much so that you can’t be sure if he’s serious or not. On the other hand, that’s just one interpretation of text since it pretty open about how much Streibough and Alethea knew each other since you can read her final monologue as he being fooled by his rescue of her or being brainwashed. Heck, can we even be certain Streibough set the kidnapping in motion? Odio is powerful enough to have incarnations across time, how do we know he’s not the one who set everything up for the sole purpose of getting Oersted as a vessel?

if you think about it, Huey's rose analogy wasn't just him warning Cube of the Behemoth, he was referring to Rachel dumping him for Kirk. and it turned out to foreshadow the Middle Ages ending regarding a certain princess and how it ultimately resulted in the creation of Huey's murderer. Odio: (listening in on Huey's rose analogy) Thou couldn't have been closer to the truth.

This would absolutely be my favorite chapter if it didn't have so much wasted potential. The main one is that the Behemoth is released to late and the paths you have to take once it si free are too short to ever feel scared. I was confronted mere 2! times from when it was released to the end of the chapter and both times I just duck into a door to the left or right, came bakc out and it was gone.

This is my favorite chapter out of the first 7 with near future in a close second just because of how good the story despite this chapter only being 2 hour long all the characters feel real with surprisingly darthe becoming my favorite with him staring out as a asshole having to work with cube and eventually learning to care for him and thanks him for the coffee which no one really does genuinely and he’s even a twist on army guy that makes the heroic sacrifice by not dying and while his backstory dosent give him the right to be a asshole it does explain why he like that So what really makes this chapter great is that it shows that even when we give into are worse aspects we can choose to grow and change (seen with darthe) because even when shit is going south someone will be there to help either it be a life or death situation or a cup of coffee that might be a bit to bitter but it at that moment it’s what you need

I guess you could have come to the conclusion the arcade machine could be used to encounter the AI, I did already know that from playing the Super Famicom version and there are just a few places to check if you didn't figure that out so you probably wouldn't be stuck for that long.

@@nbHawkeye it helps that whenever you are in the break room, the Arcade music keeps playing despite the dissonance it causes in the scenes when things go to hell in a handbasket, this actually hints that it's seemingly important and it tries to keep your attention on it for later. Sci-Fi genre-savvy players would also figure out that one of the standard ways of fighting a computer AI is to fight it directly in Cyberspace, Tron style. if you're still stuck, Darthe will call you and tell you to try to find a console that's "non-essential" to the ship but connected to OD-10. the Captain Square arcade cabinet is purely for entertainment and not necessary to run the ship, so OD-10 forgot about it when it locked down the ship's systems
