This is so awesome. I didn't know a distress call would bring them in. I thought it would drive them away. I've been using mating calls with less success than your distress calls, but I think my immediate area has less starlings than yours. Also I question whether mating calls would work outside of spring when it's mating season. But thanks to your vid I'm going to try distress calls now.

That bow fishing gear looked like a back up plan. I heard some thrashing on the shoreline this morning while I was chasing a gobbler. We had three days of 80 degree weather last week so water temps must be a little ahead of schedule. Small lakes should going with carp run now. Bigger lakes usually in late May. Sometime a hunt just comes together. Congrats on the bird.

At least someone is having some success. They have stopped gobbling.

Something about hunting from a boat that just feels more adventurous and its that much more satisfying having that boat ride revival back to the launch.
