I never knew these were harmless. I always took one look at the bright yellow and black striping on the body, and was like "Nope. Not gonna mess around with that thing.".

They look scary as hell, and that was my attitude towards them when I first come in to contact with one. Haven't seen any in our garden the past 3 years or so as the woodland behind our house has been destroyed :-(

You shouldn't go crazy with too much power! Eighty Hp should be plenty, especially with a better propeller. I hope that epoxy prime was not too heavy.

Great Call on the weather conditions. I am worried with this recent Hovercraft internet hype from a large KZbinr that a few idiots are going to make a bad hover decision and some bad press will again blemish my favorite hobby of the past 30 years. I almost built a sevetec after seeing one run and it was very quite in comparison to most craft

I love the In-Law seat with no fan protection
@implanecrazy4 жыл бұрын
There was protection before the craft was used properly and used to carry any passengers. These days I wouldn't contemplate even starting a hover without netting of some type to stop any potential fan explosions. Funny how experience changes attitudes over the years :-)

I got one in a jam jar for a couple of minutes to study it way back in the summer. These things are amazing. They sound like a drone buzzing you when flying but they're cool. My mum wasn't so cool with one in the garden though and was running a mile to get away from it!.

Great job!! Could you tell me from what car did you take the windshield? I am planning to start build a Geoduck this year.
@implanecrazy7 жыл бұрын
The windscreen glass was from a Peugeot 206 tailgate. A Citroen Saxo is also the same glass I think. They have the added bonus that they are cheap, has wiper and heater element built in

That is one of the changes that came to light in its first test flight back in December. Its one that needs doing but I want to get the craft flying nicely first before I have a new exhaust system made for it. I was disappointed with how loud the exhaust system was as it wasn't cheap.

@implanecrazy8 жыл бұрын
The bed & tilt angle is low enough that the hover will unload off of the rear if I need it to :-) The bed is so low that I was unable to legally mount the rear lights in the rear cross member as I originally intended doing, (hence the light board) legal light height limit in the UK has to be at least 300mm from the ground. I just hope I got my measurements & calculations right and the hover fits on the trailer ok and balances correctly. :-/ :-D

+Highland Hovercraft Here in Canada we have a new lighting system fully enclosed has a 3 prong pigtail plug in and they are all sizes but the transport trucks use them they're very bright some are 1" by 3" oval , or 2" by 6 oval with a rubber ring around to seal in anywhere be good for yours .

This was fresh petrol and it did and does dissolve polystyrene. Polystyrene is not allowed to be used on any boat below the waterline if it needs to be surveyed in order to be issued a safety certificate. There are plenty of alternative foams that cost very little more and that are not effected by solvent, fuel or water ingress Anyone using polystyrene for structural stability or floatation is putting their own and others lives at risk
