Not to your camera person, please. Quit moving the camera around so quickly; it makes it hard to see and follow.

Everything about this would fail inspection in NY. Sloppy hack work at its finest. 👎 Do better.

38:17 The gas line kit I bought at Home Depot says no pipe dope on the flared fittings side as well as a few other kits say "DO NOT apply grease, oil, sealant, or tape to flare ends of fitting or shut-off valve. Sealant and tape will prevent this connection from sealing properly"

Who picked this guy for this video??? He says “Hot Water Heater “!!! He’s a n Id… Who wants to heat HOT WATER?? It’s a Water Heater!!! He’s NO plumber. Look how clean his hands are. No wonder the terminology is wrong.

First I always put a big towel on the cabinet floor before I get started…..so I do not put any scratches on the customers cabinets and not let any water get into cabinet joints. The customer will appreciate it when a worker is considerate and respects the homeowners property.

It surprises me that these are still being installed in the US. This design is very similar to an old Andrews water heater in the UK but they are incredibly inefficient compared to modern appliances. What's the efficiency on these things in the US?

What do you use?
@dalehart72384 күн бұрын
@@skinlab4239 in a domestic setting, the closest thing to this system would be an unvented (pressurised cylinder), heated by a condensing boiler. In the UK, any newly installed system has to reach a minimum of 92% efficiency. I get that the heater in this video is an all in one unit and saves some space but the heat loss must be quite high if it operates like I think it does. Is there some additional form of heat recovery placed on the flue?

I have them at home and I don't recommend the they spin easily and make your plumbing work move around after installation

Could just put painters paint around it before using whatever tool you have available, too! There are no scratches, and you dont have to be picky on your tools if limited

With that nice house, an escutcheon for the drain pipe hole would make it look nicer. Strange they did it for the water pipes but not the drain pipe.

I use a paper towel to check for leaks. Best to use a brown napkin because water really shows up on it.

I was shocked that you let the water flow out into the cabinet. 😢 Maybe the cabinet is made of waterproof material? I would be horrified by that. And, it could have been nasty if the trap was filled.

Why were the shutoff valves replaced? Do they have a timeline for replacement.
@free2beme77311 күн бұрын
Not sure why those needed replaced unless they were causing a problem or they simply wanted a different type. But, typically, they last about 10-15 years. If there is nard water, they might not last but a couple years. They can get corroded or stuck open. Best to replace them before that happens. Also, good idea to turn them on and off once in awhile to keep them loose.

This is a SharkBite company. He replaced the stop valves to highlight a SharkBite product, the SharkBite Max. It’s at the end of the video and he provides a link. Strange he didn’t explain how they are better or really talk about them.

I don't believe the washer goes on the threaded part on the pan drain. The de-burr tool was also used to mark the insertion depth, but I guess the newer fittings need to be deeper?

Run a smear of never sieze on the threads for the lock collar. Ive replaced many, many whole shower bodies because maintenance twists the body trying to get the collars off to change cartridge or the collars just dont come off.
