Love this version,,,,for those fixated on Klaus Nomi listen to the Australian countertenor Max Riebl with the Adelaide Baroque in rehearsal.

Or Gerard Lesne - he has the added benefit of looking like an ancient spirit who has been rudely awoken by Merlin! And the tempo is much more suitable.

@@ritahorvath8207 In the case of Klaus Nomi he may have not been the worlds greatest countertenor, but he's better than quite a lot of them I've heard, and the sheer emotion he puts into cold song is what makes his performance amazing. Music is about expresssion not technical ability. Sincerely - A Male Soprano

Very sad for Max Riebl. Agree he was brilliant, and gone too soon.

What power art thou Who from below Hast made me rise Unwillingly and slow From beds of everlasting snow See'st thou not how stiff And wondrous old Far unfit to bear the bitter cold I can scarcely move Or draw my breath I can scarcely move Or draw my breath Let me, let me, Let me freeze again Let me, let me Freeze again to death Let me, let me, let me Freeze again to death

Magnificent bass baritone singing - so much more Purcellian than a countertenor - but the frame having a cup of tea during rehearsal wasn't needed.
