It's not an obnoxious high pitch sound other exhausts seem to have, this sounds great, and drops a ton of weight off the sled. Can't wait to get out on the snow with mine installed.

Is it chambered or does it have packing?
@TeamHPSVideos
@TeamHPSVideos 6 жыл бұрын
They are design being both chambered and packed. The packing is sandwiched between two walls creating our double walled design. This helps not only reduce damaging harmonics but also reduces under the hood heat as well as gives the deep HPS tone everyone likes.

We have never had any issues with codes or any problems with our E-Tec mufflers. If installing this muffler on a stock sled you should see a 100-150 RPM increase. Because of this increase it is important to make sure you adjust your clickers on your primary clutch down so to keep your peak RPM at 7900. Any higher and your motor is no longer making additional power and/or you will bump the rev limiter which will make it act like it can't build RPM. The only time people have concerns is when they are over Reving ( over 7900 RPM) or they have not secured the exhaust prob with the lock washer.

The guys at High Performance Sports are awesome!! They build the parts start to finish in their shop. Their products are MADE IN THE USA not in China like the other guys. Their customer service is #1. If you have a problem give them a call and you will be talking to the person who built it. I will always trust what they make and know it will work correctly

What are you doing about the correcting the air fuel ratio...they run lean from the factory to meet the C.A.R.B. emissions requirement.
@TeamHPSVideos
@TeamHPSVideos 7 жыл бұрын
It is known that the YXZ1000R may run a little lean from the factory. Our spark arrestor is a bolt on part with no programming required. The HPS spark arrestor does not change the machine enough to cause any potential harm or damage. That being said a programmer is still a good idea. With a proper tune you can have optimal air/fuel ratio and add an additional 2-3 HP above the HPS spark arrestor and even above a stock set up. If you have any other air box modifications, header modifications, and/or drilled out the catalytic converter in the stock muffler then yes I would highly recommend a programmer. We have used the DoBeck generations and the their AFR+.

i would hope the 850 would win considering the hp advantage and considering it has nearly 10hp on the Polaris it should've won be a lot more whether the Polaris had a can or not a can only makes maybe 3-5hp max and that's if it's a good can and actually adds hp and not just noise the doo is a good sled but still very weak in areas t shouldn't be around the A arms for example IMO a straight drag race really proves nothing considering the displacement and hp difference get them out on the mountain and really ride them to see which is really better. Not saying one is better than the other at this point because in all honesty i couldn't tell you but i dont think a drag race really proves anything for the doo.
