Kudos to the storm water interns for their in-stream work as well as teaching children and the "seek and find" opportunities on the trail. What a great program.

A fantastic Independence Day celebration from the amphitheater and the band stand. Great closing shot of the cannon being filed as well.

I'm hoping that the low turnout for the Republican primary at the polling places yesterday was because so many folks had voted early. Another great meeting.

Great to see the Scouts doing their duty to country - and doing it so well. Also great to see participation by our Strawberry queens and vocalists. Though it would have been great to have the ceremony outside, it was also nice to see the gymnasium of the former Fort Mill High School, that holds so many fond memories for so many of us, used in this way.

I'm so glad to hear the mayor jokingly project what so many of us on the East side of Fort Mill feel about the long awaited Harris Teeter development. I am surprised to hear that the Crossroads project is now a no-go.

Talk softly and carry a BIG gavel! Love it! So glad to see the town taking over stewardship and use of the historic Springs properties. That interchange at Exit 85 is a crazy design that will benefit the area for many years to come.

How fantastic for the town to take ownership of these Springs properties that are historically significant to our community. On a personal note, my mother worked for over thirty years in the executive office building, just a couple of doors down the hallway from the location of this announcement gathering. She worked for Lunsdford McFadden (also a past mayor of the town) in Spring's travel department, along with Miriam McRea, Tracy Armstrong, Reeves Holder, Pat Riley and Kathy Kitchens George. I have so many fond memories of visiting my mom at work as a child, and thenl later filling in as chauffeur as an older teen when Tracy Armstrong was on vacation for a week in the 80's. Mr. Closes blue convertible Mercedes is still the best smelling car I've ever been in. If luxury had a smell, it was the interior of that car. The helipad on top of the building would make a great spot for the huge artificial town Christmas tree.

Regarding the credit card fees, I notice when paying my county taxes online, there is an extra fee added to some payment methods, but other methods, like electronic draft (bank draft) attract no additional fee. Savings, or fee avoidance, will incentivise the use of payment methods that don't attract an additional fee.

@8:20 - Kudos to Bobbi Kimsey for biking to and from her cancer treatments. Amazing! @34:58 - Great to see some Scouts in the audience. Sad to learn of Davy Broome's departure. He has enriched the Fort Mill township experience during his long service to the town of Fort Mill. Awesome Trail Master Plan presentation.

What an enjoyable event for so many years that sets Fort Mill apart from other communities. It was great to hear the history of the cannons and to hear them being fired. The John Mantle story is priceless, as is the Short family who have safely fired those cannons for 50 years. Great to see Eli and family being trained up to carry on the tradition.

Great to see all of the effort by so many to make the CRAG mural project a reality. Kudos to all of our officers for the risks that they take and the assistance they provide to our citizens. Great discussion on transportation needs and which projects need to be prioritized for RFATS funding.

Another great meeting. Thank you, mayor, for confirming that the town did establish an exclusivity agreement with Hardees back in the 70's. I had heard that this existed, but had never sought to confirm it. It will be interesting to see what the open market brings to that property, which is truyly at the heart of Fort Mill, now that Hardees has closed it's doors.

@1:57:07 - Thank you for your heartfelt tribute to Stormy Young. One of the people who made Fort Mill a great community.

we must participate in the meetings to improve the community, we need for the next elections to vote not for political parties but for people of different ethnic groups, people who care more about those who earn minimum wages, for the humble class, people who make a change in the laws, that give freedom to the individual to the owner and create laws that limit the power of the state over private property we want more freedom, 🙌🙌🙌💪🏼💪🏼
@mirandapatriot4708 Жыл бұрын
the laws are wrong the de-annexation of a house only interests the government and the owner of the house, the other people of fort mill are neither benefited nor affected by removing a house from the city limits, the people support the fight for change the law to allow chickens because they benefit from the law. this is logical thinking

I recently ran across photos from the 1973 100th anniversary celebration where I won best boy costume for the 10-year-old category. Another photo showed my uncle, Olin Collins, loading people up on a bus in the St. John's parking lot for a history tour bus ride around Fort Mill. Good times!

This could be one of the proudest moments of my life! I learned that the mayor has an ax to grind with me and I have no clue why. Fortunately I don't take this kind of stuff personally and I know she's running for reelection. Got to monopolize that camera time as much as he can especially when you don't have to pay for it.

Amazing! Two questions: Once the bowl gets raised, how is it held in place? And how is the gap between the bottom of the bowl and the concrete pedestal sealed so water doesn’t leak out? Thanks.
