When you lack empathy and start making amalgams, putting everyone in the same basket, "othering" people. It becomes ironic. You do the same as the one you criticise, "same shit different hole" as it were. You are not free from the same discriminatory bias and societal conditioning you accuse the French of having, they just took another form and shape as you lived. And you know what? It is alright, that's your life and your own though process. Just try to be a bit more aware and empathetic, both toward yourself and other. France as a country sucks, from how cruel and uncaring the government is, to how the abuse and violence is normalised, to how predatory behaviour is applauded; there is no desire for understanding and there is no incentive to help, only punitive measures. Yet it is the country that is dependent on the people and not the other way around. From the many socio-economic layers, you'll find a majority of people that are kind and want to help others. But you'll find just as many who are hurt/traumatised by the life they had, who latched/were pushed onto extremist ideologies or antagonistic belief by the normative and societal conditioning. People need kindness, empathy, patience while being held accountable for their action for things to change and heal, not insults. Sincerely, un compatriote français.
