I am going to get an Avec A5 for the first time and the weeks mega

I am going to be trying 3 different planners for 2025. A Plum Planner, a B5 Sterling Ink, and a Hobonichi Cousin. Trying to find something (or 2) that works.

Love this ! We saw Metallica live and it was amazing. My struggle is 2025 planner choice - I suck at journaling too but love memory keeping so much.

I'm only going to use a Weeks Mega for my planning this year. I purchased a Sterling Ink undated planner for travel journaling - the month calendar for travel dates, arrival and departure info, and accommodations; the goal area for future planned trips; the weeks for our daily schedule and the extra sheets at the end for journaling. Possibly thinking about a 5 year as well. Real life will happening far more that travel :-) And I will be creative journaling for Bible study.

Hi Sam! I never have luck reselling planners. I know you do though. idk, lol But, that doesn't stop me. Every year I waste so much money because I think oh, I might need/want to use that one, or that one, and then most of them just sit. I think your plan sounds great. However, I would order the three Hobo books for 2025. Even if the next few weeks don't go as planned with your trial, I know you, and at some point in 2025 you are going to want to try this system again, and then wish you had the three books dated for 2025. 😊😘💞 So just bite the bullet, spend the money, get your three free Hobo pens and gifts, and don't resell the planners. There you go. My two cents. 💰🤣 You don't use other brands, so it isn't like you are out here buys ALL the planners from everywhere. With your ring bound planners, you mostly get free inserts. So, all in all, it isn't that much money on your hobby to have all of things on hand for when you need them. BTW, I am still amazed, and proud of you for sticking to your new way of health life! You are doing awesome, Sam! Oh, I also started HRT about 5 weeks ago. My "doctor" or whatever she is, keeps telling me how beneficial this will be for my low moods and mental wellbeing. So far, I haven't noticed anything. I was on a low dose the first month. Just Thursday I double the Estradiol patch. I still don't notice anything. I fell down the planner rabbit hole back in 2017 and it's taken me until last year to find what works for me. I've been sticking with the Hobonichi now for almost a year and a half and I've never been so content with a planner system. I've tried a few things here and there just to see, but the Hobonichi just fits my needs perfectly. I use a Cousin for my main planner/journal, an A6 for my spiritual/prayer journal, and a Weeks for my on-the-go/household-ish planner. Like I said, I love it! I am considering swapping out my A6 for an Avec though, just for more room to do a proper Bible study, etc. Part of me says, "why not give it a try?" and the other part says "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." So we'll see! 🤪Anyway, I'm so glad you found something that works for you, and that you're giving yourself the freedom to switch it up if needed as well. I'm excited to see which Weeks you choose and how you set up your planners for the new year! I do Spring starts, so I'm hoping they offer the "Through the Purple Night" weeks for Spring as well because that one definitely had my heart, haha! But I also really loved the "Snake Toy" one!

2025 will be my third year in a Weeks. I bought a Cousin last year to try out and abandoned it pretty quickly. Picked it back up recently to try and also ordered a Techo, but I just love the weekly spread and blank page layout of the Weeks, so I’ll stick with it for 2025. I have the Liberty London fabric cover this year and hope I like the Liberty choice for next year. I just put a clear cover on mine, and it stays on my desk 99% of the time since I work from home, but I do take it when I travel for noted to transfer to my 5-year.

Originally I didn't think I would go with Hobonichi next year, but why? lol I'm in my third year in the Weeks and it works. I started this year in B6 slim and in May I ordered a weeks and back filled it because it brings me joy and it's one planner that doesn't really stress me out. It fills all my planning needs. I've been journaling in A5 and it's too much so I'm going smaller next year and I'm now thinking an A6 Hobonichi might be the way to go. I guess I still have a few days to figure it out. I was really excited to see a couple of mega weeks with designs on them this year. I am undecided on covers for either one however. Look forward to seeing what you pick!

Hi Sam, thanks for sharing. I used the Weeks for years, then tried Sterling Ink’s Weeks planner. I think there’s a subtle difference in the paper. Despite the fact that SI is so beautifully uncluttered, I’m drawn again to Weeks for 2025. Have you tried SI?

I like using my weeks as a planner I write on the left a summary of the day mini journal (as I do not journal long form everyday) the right for tasks and events chores focus. I write under those headers as a checklist as I don't know what days I may do what sometimes their goals for the week. Stalogy for my long form journaling. But I am considering a hobonichi a6 for longer summary journaling, I've been very consistent in my weeks. But I need more space certain days so I like stalogy as the dating is flexible and no page numbers. For now I know weeks and one notebook work for me. I use a Platinum Preppy fountain pen with platinum preppy cartridge in my hobonichi. As I do like just one pen mostly, in my planner and then a gel pilot g2 for the to dos on the right. (I have nice Sailor pens but just want something simple,portable)

Here's what I would do about the song list error. Is take a piece of paper that fits that size write on it what you wanted and glue it over the error spot. Will look nice, clean and collaged :) hope you found this helpful. Enjoyed the video 😊

Decided to go with an A6 Hobonichi for next year, mainly due to the portability, with a separate B5 journal. Haven't decided what notebook to use for the journal but will probably go with a Leuchtturm.

I love the sterling ink N1 this year, as it replaced the weeks for me as my health & wellness. Only problem is that I don't have any covers for that size, so I'll probably not do it again. I'm trying to decide between A5 & B6. I've given up on the hobonichi.

I am getting two weeks. I use one for my functional planning/daily carry and one for work. I am getting a weeks for my son to use for school. I was going to get another Cousin Avec for my journaling/memory keeping, but now I'm not sure. I've always said that I wanted an A5 sized hobonichi A6, and Sterling Ink is coming out with one this year so now I am wavering between the Cousin Avec and the Stirling Ink one because I really only sort of half ass use the weeks pages in the Cousin. I feel like a traitor though...lol

lol just as I’ve convinced myself to try sterling ink’s horizontal common planner this year 😅 I need to search your videos to find your review on it before I decide. Hard to stray from hobonichi after all these years!

I like the cousin but I don’t have a lot going on to fill up the pages. My third year failing at the cousin. So I’ve ordered the monthly pocket moleskine to track my financial spending. Also ordered the Portland leather goods journal cover after seeing your other video on that. Also going to use a pocket moleskine daily for journaling. Much less pressure to fill up those smaller pages. And of course a hobonichi weeks which I’ve been using since 2022. The pressure comes from which cover do I want to buy. There’s an out six weeks that I like the covers on but no way I need that many.

I am currently fixated on "tiny planners" (Passport TNs or Field Notes,) and I don't like TR paper, so I am super happy with blank notebooks, but I still lurk on videos for Hobonichi Weeks because I really like the size, and I love the Liberty Fabrics covers! I have a sentimental attachment to Paddington books, so if I can figure out a use for it, I might get that in the Weeks Size! I keep journaling separate from Planning, so I have a hard time filling space in Hobonichi planners, which is why I use blank notebooks.

I redated a cousin from 2023 I bought from a thrift store. Planning to have it at the ready if I want to go back to a cousin. If I got a new cover It would be the Spy x family one

I may have missed it, but which Cousin are you going to get, the softcover or a HON? I'm getting the Ivory Slash HON Cousin. I got the Makino botanical A5 HON for 2024 and was sad that there isn't one for 2025, but I love the ivory slash design so that's ok 😅

I enjoyed my Hon black Gingham Hobonichi Cousin this year and will most likely get another. No matter what I always get the A6....LOL. This year I would like to try the B6 slim Sterling Ink.

I have used a hobo weeks for 5 years but i love seeing how others adapt to it. It's my perfect planner, but it doesnt fit everyones lifestyle.

I look forward to seeing your 2025 updates on how it works. I loved the A6 in 2023, but went with Sterling Ink for the weeks version. I just decided to go with the Planner Perfect for the fall. First time in this planner. I feel like I need some art and color for the season.

I'm focused on finding the right reading planner and journal for me, so I'm not sure if it'll be Hobonichi for now. But if it is, it'll be an A5 (HON/Avec/English) and/or Weeks (Regular/Mega).

I like your point about how it's easier to buy the planner you think you need and then resell it if you change your mind, than decide at the last minute that you want it and then have to scramble to try to find it. Especially with Hobonichi because the shipping costs a fortune. I hope you're able to get your planner plan worked out!

Okay so YES! I did a full video on the new Tomoe river paper because I couldn't stand how it was reacting to my fountain pens. Since ink dries quicker on the new paper, it makes some pens so scratchy 😣 Is that going to stop me from getting a Hobonichi weeks for 2025? Absolutely not 🤣

I love my Wonderland222 . Found them last year. I love The weeks after the month. I don't use my weeks like a normal person 😂. I don't use the time. Every vertical column has a set subject for that day (appt, expenses, staff sched, etc). The notes at the end are for my daily "diary" of sorts. Also, the customer service was a plus, very helpful and just awesome.

I have battled my weight for the majority of my life. My highest 364 and lowest 192. The words obesity will always be attached to my name. What I learned from my journey is that weight is just a number. You said you are “doing all the right things.” It maybe helpful to not focus on the number and just focus on the right things you are doing. Sorry just my thoughts. 😊

I like the look of the regular better, but I just don't think it will hold quite enough. I'm waiting to see the shortbread Nora's that are supposed to come out this year.
