You Need to season your pan when they are new water doesn't stick and can make the gold do the same you need to rough up the surface of the pan just a little can use fine sand paper or hand full of dry gravel. You will see a huge difference in the pan 👍🏴⚒️

Well done Buttons ! I sometimes use a jewellers loupe to look at gold closely in the pan to examine the surface texture. You'll be amazed at the contours you'll see and how beautiful it looks, glowing even on the dullest of days ! In an area where there is mica this also removes any doubt, rather than doing the drag / scratch test across the pan which wears down your gold. Some gold is even heavily iron stained (something to be mindful of) but under magnification you'll see the shine peep through here and there. It's great that you have such determination. Keep up the good work. Happy prospecting😀

A small drop of dishwasher detergent in a pan will season your pan from new but every now and then as you prospect add a small drop of the detergent as oils from your hands will cause gold to float in the pan. Another tip is do not have any large stones in the pan whatsoever just a teaspoon or table spoon of heavy materials before the rolling back to see results and do not use your finger to search for gold as if gold is present the correct action of the pan is sufficient without putting fingers in pan. I hope I 🎉was not critical of you but you just need to refine a little bit. Gold as you well know is heavy and with its first opportunity it will be on the bottom of the pan. The burns of Scotland I panned in had a layer of black wash and if you see that layer it will most likely contain gold in that black layer. Good luck. Old Johnno of Australia.

Definitely gold in that pan. Gold floats also unless you use a water surfactant to break the water tension. That's why people use dishwasher rinse aid. That's what jet dry is. You use that because it doesn't have many bubbles compared to washing up liquid 👍 the way to tell if it's gold is put it in the dark and gold shine's in the dark 💚💛❤️

Typical Leadhills rain , i love spending time in that area ,I have one of these sluices, never been out the box yet, been itching to test it, seen loads of reviews good/bad on it, the best results were obtained by classifying down to 4/5mm preferably 4mm , you will find micro grains of Pyromorphite which in the sun can look like gold, can be deceiving, but your finding gold , Thanks for sharing mate see ya in the next one.

@@AdventuresWithButtons it takes about 2 minutes or less to get through a bucket of unclassified material with a scrubber mat then you change the mat for concentrates or you can just shovel straight into it. If you haven't seen them there's loads of videos on KZbin. Also the bottom bit can be used as a sluice and has adjustable legs so you can put it in any depth of water and has a flare you put on. I think it's like the A52 sluice which is quite popular 👍
