Interesting way to promote tribal cultures. It's being passed on to the next generation. Every tribe has It's cultures and tradition. Where and when do we become Kenyans instead of kalejins, kikuyus, luos, turikana, we are 40+ tribes. The colonisers should have devided Africa according to tribes. As they are devided I'm Europe.

@@rosaliembarikiwa592 bro, distinguish between “customs” and showing off. Thats 2 different things. If this was about customs only folks in the village would know. I’m far away from Kenya and I know of it, that’s showing off. Then there’s the 2 rent a cops on each side of the SUV? 😂😂

OMG, Konza New Town is a disaster in the making! In a few years, it will become clear that “smart city” is just a buzzword-essentially greenwashing. While the city might boast advanced technologies like underground pipelines for waste management, ubiquitous Wi-Fi, and extensive surveillance, the actual quality of life is appalling. Wide streets dominate the urban landscape, with soulless, poorly designed buildings, no bike lanes, and barely any trees. It forces complete dependence on motorized transport. If you want to understand how to create cities people truly love, read Jan Gehl or Christopher Alexander. Their ideas on urban planning emphasize human-centered design, livability, and the importance of vibrant, walkable communities. This version makes your points

That red outfit / shuka, beads, women white long beaded dresses with a gown (ole kishopo) thrown over is NOT Kale culture but MAASAI for God sake, this is outright theft. Please can the real Kalenjin traditional outfit stand up? A lot of tribes in Kenya have lost their culture and traditions for the alien white people's foreign culture of materialism and religions, but the Maa group at least still do keep it and guard it...I am proud of them but i don't know why others are stealing their culture?? Also how on earth do u allow corrupt politicians such as Mandago to mentor the young people instead of the ELDERLY?? What has happened? Kalenjins your colors are NOT "RED" & Colorful beads, Its also like claiming Bantu Lesso, Kitenge, Kente, Dera, Kaunda etc to be Nilotic! Let us all preserve what is ours and be proud! I am sure William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto CGH(born 21 January 1967), Onesimus Kipchumba, Murkomen, Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, Jackson Mandago, Farouk Kibet and many more went through this exercise but look at what they have done to Kenya: extra judicial killings, use of torture chambers, killings of unarmed protesters, covering up massacres, enforced disappearances, abductions, murders, rampant corruption, lawlessness, repression, suppression, repression, abuse of power, economic missmanagement and really destroying the country. These rites of passage are as good as tits on a bull if they don’t teach about honesty, transparency, integrity, accountability, respect for rule of law and the constitution and not supporting, incubating or enabling corruption and destruction! Most of these African traditional practices omit the most fundamental principles, values, qualities that are required to grow productive and prosperous societies. There was nothing in that ceremony that if perfectly implemented would bring about a better Ruto or Oscar Sudi, so basically those traditions are outdated and actually don’t produce good citizens. And why whitewash the corrupt Jackson Mandago? So Africans have to question whether their traditional practices are fit for purpose in a modern world?

I get stomach ache when i meet a child who cannot speak his/her mother tongue. That error goes to parents. If their is a custom that should be preserved it is the language. Of what purpose is all these other customs if the basic one is ignored. Cos when a parent embraces a foreign language as the first language that is tantamount to disregarding what God initiated.
