Sid Going was such an iconic All Black for me as a young kid. Creative, powerful, unpredictable… he epitomised what I thought the All Blacks were all about. Along with the skill and brilliance of Bryan Williams and Stu Robertson it made me want to be a back. For the generation before me Kel Tremain or Colin Meads or Kevin McCormick did the same for defining the ABs as a forwards game built on power, indomitable force, and ball-in-hand skill. That’s the mark of a great All Black; they define the game in their own terms. RIP Super Sid.

When you look at that stats list you can easily make an argument that Luke Jacobson has been the best on show, hes in carrier best form IMO. I like Finau he deserves to be in the mix but Jacobsons form and workrate is blowing him off the park.
