hi, What types of wood does that guitar have? I am studying carpentry, I have a guitar that, when worked on, sounds exactly like when you have planed and worked with the chisel... when you play it , sound very similar... thx very much

I know it's a strange comment... but this life rewards each person with different abilities...
@alexbishopguitars20 күн бұрын
Hi! I’m not certain on the woods actually, but I think it was walnut. A bit odd for an old flamenco guitar. Typically these were made from cypress or rosewood. Good luck on your carpentry journey!

@@alexbishopguitars The guitar I mention to you is a gem... it will have been built for 50 years... It has no fingerboard and the neck/headstock is completely sapelly... my lungs knew it soon enough 😂😂😂... Perhaps the soundboard, sides or back were made of walnut or some similar wood. The finish/varnish is made of shellac... i will keep learning english and this wonderful job, someday i can reach my dream

WHY WASTE YOUR TIME ON A JUNK GUITAR

VERY FEW PEOPLE KNOW THAT THE TRIM-WORKER MAKES THE GUITAR SING. NICE WORK

guitars don't sing, they don't have lungs, or vocal chords, or anything like that.

Absolutely! I think the binding noticeably affects the sound. I’ve never quite worked out why though.

This motherfucker is truly a master at his craft. So few views and even fewer likes, he knows exactly which dimensions to form this trim to perfectly match this guitar. He even plays it skillfully after the repairs are done. Bravo, my friend.

This is a nice overview at the fret job. I assume all of the steps are covered? Maybe not every detail of the process is there but this makes it look not as daunting. I just had frets replaced and if I had this video I might be tempted to do it myself. But I went with SS frets and I know I don't have the tools for those...
@alexbishopguitarsАй бұрын
Glad it was interesting! Whilst there’s definitely more to it than this video shows I recommend giving it a go. Avoid SS frets for your first, and try out on a not-so-precious guitar too! 🙏

Cool video curious if you had the bridge off why not add 6 more holes (maybe customers choice) I fine that 12 holes in the bridge make for a much neater and stronger tie

I’ve seen these kind of builds in the states and the wood in their d.i.y stores is what we would call premium over here. They have maple and everything in home depot, the uk on the other hand is mainly pine!
