If my math is right, and of course it is, at 6.5 FPS you could shoot like that for about 4 hours and 15 minutes before you reach the ultimate 100,000 shutter life limit. That's not that long if you think about it.

@dfgdfghgfhrthrh Actually yes i must agree with you, Just got mine out and tested it there, I got a 5 second burst at 1/8000 before it started to slow shooting RAW without chip. I left that comment before i owned the camera just so you know

- @joeperrrr - I have never had problems with the Sandisk Extreme III cards. I have a 1, 2 and 4 gig CF. Compact Flash cards are much faster than any other card on the market. You will not find a professional or many prosumer cameras with SD slots. If you're capturing RAW only then that might explain the write delays.

@joeperrrr mine would slow down after 6 shots (shooting in jpeg regardless of card type) until I got the battery grip. Not sure why it's different for everyone...

It depends on what kind of lens you want. If you're after a cheap lens with decent quality you can't go wrong with the EF 50mm f/1.8. There are literally hundreds of Canon lenses to choose from and many more from Tamron, Sigma, etc

I ordered a refurb one from B&H for $699.

Is it supposed to go as fast, also I learned from another video that having a professional memory card will make a difference. Non-pro card doesn't accept data as fast as it needs to.

I bought the 40D right when it came out and I can say first hand that it's an excellent camera! I recently bought the 5D MKII, but will never part with the 40D, and I use both camera's for different things.

Cool I got these pictures at that time. I used a Canon 20D at the time.

I have a friend, who has a 1D Mk2, has made already more than 200,000 shots todate. And his camera is still doing good.

Its faster with a 580ex ii in the hot shoe.
