I think living together is impossible. I don’t know many long term relationships that are truly happy and compatible. There is always one that is happier than the other, and I’ve been around a long time so I’ve seen them. I think marriages last too long. Victoria Wood often captures real life like this. Did anyone ever see her in housewife, 49 she was superb. Based on the Nella last war diaries. She was completely downtrodden and miserable until the war brought her volunteer. work that got her out of her house and made her so happy if you get a chance, you should watch.

This is exactly how I remember the early 80s. The muted colours. The hanging sense of greyness and desolation.

Despite her huge talent it's interesting how she always played the rathervshy, awkward, self effacing character in her plays, leaving Julie to shine. I wonder how much her broad bone figure affected her as it seems to come up so much in her plays and sketches. There's an inner sadness there.

A genius script. And reminded me why my relationship with my partner has lasted all of 17 years - we're both introverts and stay away from each other when at home - but it actually works, we still like each other haha :o)

First time of seeing this, was shocked at people mentioning Victoria Wood in the past tense, I had no idea she had died, very sad news albeit late. I have not watched T.V for over 20 years, in fact I don't own one, I don't have a radio or take "news" papers ( I much prefer toilet tissue), I know I am out of touch with it all. Cancer is a terrible thing, and so unnecessary to die from it as the cure is out there, my late wife died of cancer after a 4 year battle. So very sad.

I haven't had a tv except for playing games on for over 20years either. Don't read papers or have a radio but it was everywhere, headlines in shops, etc. So sad
