Are these acrylic primers? And do they need to be thinned?
@DK_hobby2 ай бұрын
These are water based, and they dont need to be thinned(per label) but if it looks too thick i do thin them a little. BUT i recently tried alcohol based primers… they were sooo goooood… i used the aqueous surfacer. Really good and dont smell to bad
@geraldfavian30782 ай бұрын
I was wondering, is it safe to use tamiya accent color on top of water based acrylic?
@DK_hobby2 ай бұрын
it should be okay if you are just just doing few panel lines. little amount on, clean with thinner. if you are doing big areas, or worry that it might melt, you can top coat with semi gloss or gloss, after your waterbased paint. than apply the tamiya accent color.
@geraldfavian30782 ай бұрын
@@DK_hobby I'll put some top coat on then to be safe. Thanks for the help!!!!
@HaohmaruHL2 ай бұрын
You can also use a drawing compass that has 2 needles when trying to do symmetry on both parts like arms or legs. Measure the thickness with both needles, fix the wheel, and transfer it to the next part. Easy, quick, no messing with a ruler, and produces a clean result. Use compass needles to poke the guiding holes in the plastic and connect them later. A compass is also useful when trying to do straight lines parallel to the part's edge. First, extend one of the needles (or take it out completely and re-insert it with the other end to prevent this needle from scratching anything else). Apply the compass with the longer needle touching the edge of the part and the shorter needle sitting on the surface of the part you want to scribe. You then gently glide the compass along the edge to make a perfectly straight line. Alternatively, can just poke two holes on both ends of the part (since the compass is already set to a fixed distance from the edge of the part) and connect the dots later with your scriber.

Thee knee broke because you didn't follow the instructions, and you didn't even bother supporting either half before bending it to break it in and loosen it up. Watching you break it is just horrible, it looks like you were TRYING To break it. Instant force all at once, and it looks like you even twisted it. This is all user error. Then you used completely wrong glue to try and fix it. That isn't super glue, it's model cement. Super glue doesn't melt anything, and that's what you should have used after using a pin vice to drill a hole and insert some sort of small rod for support. All the talk about this being a bad kit is from people who are bad builders.
@DK_hobby2 ай бұрын
Sorry for being a bad builder… just trying to get better every day. But Is it me? Or are you some how mad at me for being bad? Maybe a bad builders shouldn’t make videos or even post in public…? 😅if that’s the case, I’m sorry i didn’t know that…🥲 but Thanks for comment! I’ll try to take your words and get better on next one!
@simpleanswer89542 ай бұрын
@@DK_hobby There's nothing wrong with being a bad/inexperience builder, but you're making tutorial videos when you should be watching them instead. Build logs are fine, displaying your personal experience is great, but people are too quick to try and make tutorials for things they don't completely understand.

Thanks for pointing that out, but i only did those cuz few of my subscribers asked. I also mention that I’m no pro, i only started 11~ month ago. I think most know that I’m a newbs. Depends, if its water or alcohol based, they will work, if its lacquer (which many Mr.hobbys are), they wont. I usually only use water/alcohol based paints only because lacquer smells are too strong for me.

Imagine going to Japan just to buy gunpla 😂 then again maybe it's not so farfetched cause buying in retail is so much cheaper than buying online and getting slapped with a massive shipping cost. It's literally costing me 2 or 3 times more buying it online here in India.😐

I went to Japan recently. I had heard of Gunpla but had never had one. Because they were so cheap in Japan i bought one. I ended up buying 51 more, some pens, and tools and sent most of them back home. Post in Japan isnt too expensive and gunpla is pretty light. The only thing I didnt know was that the UK and Thailand both charged me tax when i picked the parcels up. I think it depends on the value of what you send.

hi would you recommend gloss coating first? for some reason after i rescribe existing panel lines with the pour marker, it kinda "bleeds"? and i cant seem to clean those off as well
@DK_hobby7 ай бұрын
For me the Bleed "usually" happen to places where I did the "POOR scribe". like it wasn't sharp enough or it was messy with "tiny micro" scratches. Since the ink/marker sipps into those lines, they became hard to clean as well. I'm not 100% sure, but I that happened to me before. (it will be sad... but...) I will either SAND or PUTTYU the whole surface FLAT, and re-do the scribing lines. do REALLY light pressure 2-3 lines with guide tape, then do some harder pressure once the piece got some "grooves" in it. You need to trust your scribing tools, you shouldn't really have to put too much force while using them. Top coating will definitely help the panelining process, but if scribed lines are messy, I think it might give u the same result. Hope I answered something u needed!

I really want to try the lacquer primers one day... Aqueous was this strong!! wonder how strong lacquers can be...!! Thanks for comment!!
