Arrangement ou harmonisation par Crüger pour cette version, mais l'air est beaucoup plus ancien. C'est une mélodie composée par Luther d'après un très ancien hymne remontant à la fin du IVème siècle de notre ère... La version française , assez récente (1974), Viens ô Sauveur des païens est aussi un chant de l'Avent.

I love Ketelbey. His score In A Persian Market is delightful. Through his music he captures images from the past. One can almost see one self in an Agatha Christie mystery such as "Death on the Nile" or "Murder on the Orient Express."
