Damn, this meets everything i have for past 15 years , i taught i have acid reflex and very sensitive throat. i have been sleeping with elevated bed for more than 1 year.

I have dealt with a swimmy headed feeling post op along with forehead pressure that is ridiculous. This happened before surgery..I do have migraines and I am on medication for this.. I have chronic sinusitis but I feel that I should be getting better but my symptoms are coming back. Not many headaches after surgery but the pressure along with the swimmy headed feeling is very hard to deal with on a day to say basis. It can actually make your anxiety and depression worse. Any suggestions on this situation?

This is the problem. This is not a high acid issue, this is a mechanical issue and the acid is in the wrong place. The acid isn’t acidic enough allowing the esophageal sphincter is staying open. You need to take betaine hcl NOT PPIs.

Very informative. Thanks. Recovering from a four hour sinus op to remove polyps and enlarge the space, 10 days ago, and was not informed of detailed recovery process. I did pre-op research and went to three hospitals and all ENT surgeons said I needed an op. I wish I had seen your videos before. I would still go through with it, but would be much more informed and reassured.

THE GASES AND ACID SHOOTS UP THE OESOPHAGUS BECAUSE THE STOMACH VALVE IS WEAK AND IS NOT CLOSING AS IT SHOULD,HENCE ALLOWING THE ACID TO SHOOT UP YOUR THROAT. DOCTORS NEED TO GET FEEDBACK FROM PATIENTS WHO HAVE IT OR HAVE HAD IT BECAUSE THE SOLUTION SO FAR HAS BEEN LNX SURGERY, WHICH NO ONE OUT OF THE 3 MENTIONED!? GET STUDYING DOCS!

Acid reflux? I thought LPR was pepsin reflux. An alginate and alkaline water have helped. Cutting way back on all my faves: coffee, caffeine, dark chocolate, tomato products 😢. Timing of eating and reclining help.

*I AM NOT A DOCTOR* I'M A PATIENT I just want to let you all know that I had my surgery about 5 days ago under Local Anesthesia and the minor hiccups that I am facing. 1st things 1st, to the people who get regular sinus infections and migraines, please visit your ENT doctor and if they recommended a surgery, GET IT DONE! This surgery was the best thing that has happened, you will regret it if you postpone the surgery. My fellow mates who are getting their surgery done, don't get scared, if you have any anxiety issues let the doctor know because they might prescribe a medicine for it a few days before the surgery. My surgery procedure was Septoplasty FESS and Bilateral Inferior Turbinoplasty. For the 1st 48 hours i had teary eyes, constant nose bleeds which go from bright red to mucus mixed red. Keep your head up so the nose bleed reduces. My nose was filled with gauze so that it stablizes the position of the nose after the surgery (this will be removed around 72 hours after the procedure if it is not dissolvable gauze) During the surgery, the doctor will mentally prepare you about everything that will happen during the surgery, if a tube is not inserted, just swallow, remember to swallow everything that you feel in the throat unless mentioned. If you are given Local Anesthesia, your throat might feel numb, its common, you will feel little managable pain but don't worry and fight through it. Remember, you are in a hospital and you are with surgeons and they know what they are doing. I feel like my upper two teeth don't exist 😂 and it is very annoying but this video has reassured me that it is alright. After the surgery for the first few days, DO NOT understand any circumstance blow your nose, take the snot back into your throat and either spit it or swallow it. If you have to sneeze, open your mouth and sneeze trying to avoid any pressure to the nose as much as possible. This procedure is usually done on an out-patient basis meaning you can go home the same day unless otherwise mentioned by your surgeon. Other than these, I might have missed on few things but always be curious, ask your surgeon and they will explain, don't be scared as it is a simple procedure. And lastly All the best and wishing you all a fast recovery!

Oh my gosh!!!! This is exactly what I have. Post nasal drip, feeling something in my throat, appetite loss, and now I’m having random acute abdominal pain.

Anyone deal with shortness of breath especially when lying down on back? I have shortness of breath all the time but it’s the worse when I lay down. I like literally have to sit up straight. Could this be from LPR?

I am scheduled to have this surgery next month. I was born with a cleft pallet and my pallet is pushed up a bit to where I have a hole in the roof of my mouth and my concern is the Saline Solution. I can not gargle due to my pallet and Saline Solutions have a bad effect on me. Do you have another suggestion besides the Saline Solution? If I can not use the Saline does that make it a risky surgery?

Usually people with LPR have lower than usual stomach acid production. Their symptoms are not usually coming from acid. If it were acid you would have the classic acid reflux symptoms down lower in your esophagus. Your symptoms are usually being caused by the activation of the gastric enzyme pepsin as being refluxed into your throat, sinus cavity, ears and could even be in your tears. Pepsin is activated by acid so any citrus, chocolate or anything acidic will activate the pepsin. Pepsin is used by the body to digest protein. Basically your body is trying to digest itself.

Along with hoarseness and sinus drainage, I also cough up a lot phlegm. I have to sleep sitting up most of the time.

I have constant severe burning gas/ aerosol coming up from my stomach every day all day. It is horrible. I feel like dying more and more by the day. It started Wednesday, today is Sunday on Friday they recommended Drops Medication, I went back the next day on Saturday and they placed a Cotton wicker inside my ear my pain right now it's a 7 should I go back and have it removed the ENT said you can only have it in your Ear for only 48 hours.
