WOW!! What a surprise running across this! Thanks for sharing and especially the colorization of our black & white Ep cover! This is Jeff Griffith. I was the founding member / song writer and guitarist.Truly amazing to see ppl keep finding us and sharing our music, 30+ years later! For anyone who's interested, I actually released a new track about 2 yrs ago. It was written as the title track to Hammerjacks; The Rockumentary called "Meet Me At Hammers." 👇 music.kzbin.info/aero/OLAK5uy_mab9fXDiCNKUtN_I3cAABiGwf4uCEu8fM&si=4-dALbbUu1EV4Nwn

This is a demo of the band's demo. The original demo was recorded by the songwriters - Martin Page & Tommy Funderburk. Tommy sang backing vox on the final studio version Starship recorded.

Interesting, but it’s missing the VH sizzle. Where are Michael Anthony’s Vocals, Alex’s drum sounds, a blistering EVH solo? It seems like a throwaway demo and was never given much thought. It could have been better. It’s a VERY safe pop/rock song with no flair. I think Mitch Malloy is a very good vocalist, and maybe it could have worked had the missing VH ingredients been there, but they aren’t there.

Mitch was lucky he worked with Eddie and yeah its a rough demo just to check his vocals , but mitch never wanted to be in the any band

@@80sRockheavymetal2it’s an interesting “could have been,” and I’d like to hear more. It does fall into the “safe” world of corporate rock that VH became with Sammy, but it is intriguing, nonetheless. Mitch’s style may have opened up a few areas that VH hadn’t explored at the time. Oh, well.

This band right here is proof that no matter how talented you are, your appearance was VERY important back then and these dudes are beyond goofy looking. Wtf is that hairdo on that guitar player in the center lol

VH is my favorite band, and EVH is the guy who inspired me to play guitar, and I think that while Malloy fits the band vocally, my understanding is that he's a pretty straight arrow. The band, on the other hand, was a total mess at the time. This wouldn't have worked long-term.

Band Wasn't it was record label issue , you know grunge and alternative rock was newly in the scene and producers managers were interested to promote that music ... on that time musicians like EVH struggles cause they had to make their music on their own also for promotion there was no proper social media platform the one we have nowadays ... whatever EVH recorded i love that
