I was blown away by the cohesion between the melody, the harmonies, the lyrics, and the instrumentation. They all contributed to a central message in a concerted manner, and I believe that contributed to that depth that you speak of. It was beautiful.

I really enjoyed your analysis of the lyrics...very close to Hua Hua's explanation of the meaning of the song. We grow, change and evolve from both the good and bad (hopefully not diminish). Hua's answer to the question "Is it still me?" and his answer was "the most essential soul in your body will not change." This has become one my favorites of his songs.💗💗

Fantastic message! We can't be afraid of growth, we could potentially waste too much time in doing so, and hinder our ability to achieve our full potential. Mistakes will be made along the way, and we may lose ourselves at any given point, but we have it in us to find our way once more, and be one with ourselves. We have to trust in our ability to do so, and that stems from understanding who we are and where we are coming from.

Thank you for watching! I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the reaction/analysis. When this song was recommended to me, I was actually told that it utilizes the Paradox of Theseus to convey its message. However, I purposely avoided looking up what that paradox is, or what it touches on, as I wanted the song to tell me the story without me being influenced by information provided outside of the lyrics. I find it fun to explore meaning in that way. It can be risky I suppose, as I can completely miss the mark, but my objective isn't to define these songs, as that is not how I view music or art as a whole; my main purpose is simply to explore my thoughts and share the reasoning behind them so as to demonstrate my perspective on what is being said and how I connect with it. As I mentioned in the intro of this video though, Hua's material tends to involve incredible storytelling, so I am not surprised that I was able to get close to the intended meaning just by listening to the song and reading the lyrics. The songwriting and the performance are truly the most impressive elements 😀

Always a pleasure to watch your analysis to Hua's songs! You basically got the gist of the song from just the lyrics, but you were missing a crucial piece of info - Ship of Theseus is a famous identity paradox. There was this famous ship that the Greeks wanted to preserve over time as a reminder of Theseus's journey back to Athens after his victories, particularly after defeating the Minotaur in Crete. To keep the ship around, the Greeks were replacing its decayed wooden parts with new ones. This process of continuous replacement led to philosophical debates about the nature of identity and the persistence of objects, giving rise to the famous paradox. If all the parts of the initial ship were replaced, is that still the Ship of Theseus or it became something else? Additionally, if the old parts are reassembled into another ship, which one, if any, is the original? In his speech before the song, Hua said that we are all changing constantly but there is a part of us that remains the same over time which is our soul. Rocker Hua is my favorite, but this song is becoming my favorite mostly because it came out at a moment where I was asking myself the same questions, what are the components of "the real me" and how constant the "real me" is over time so I could heavily relate.

I commented before about this band that I think you would definitely enjoy since you like Hua and TOP, called Sleep Token. I remember you were busy with reactions, but you should give them a listen in your free time - they are lore heavy and probably have some of the best lyrics in modern music. They concluded a brilliant album trilogy in 2023 - the first album is called Sundowning (2019), This place will become your tomb (2021) and Take me Back to Eden (2023). Besides the albums, they released 2 EP's called One (2016), Two (2017) with 3 songs each that are related to the lore but not a part of the trilogy. The official lore is that Vessel (the band vocalist that does everything in the studio besides drums), was visited in a dream by an ancient deity called Sleep and now the band is spreading "sleep's" message. The unofficial lore is made up by fans and it goes pretty wild. At the surface their songs seem to be a lot about a toxic relationship, but if you dig a bit deeper it could be about the toxic relationship one has with themselves. The lyrics are pretty vague but touch on a variety of science stuff, philosophy, mythology and psychology. You can see I am a big fan lol, but I really think you'll enjoy their music even if you will not do reactions to them.
@MFPReacts
@MFPReacts Ай бұрын
I love that! Without the parts being replaced, the ship would decay into oblivion, thus remaining solely a part of history. If it is to survive, and not only in the form of a memory, the replacements are not merely an option, but rather a necessity. I spent a good chunk of this reaction relating the metaphor to the lived experience, and to bring it back to that in this comment, change is not as much of a choice as we would like to think it is. Time changes our environment, and we must adapt as we see fit. We evolve as a result, and that much is inevitable. Thinking of life as a journey, where standing still equates to stagnation, I like the idea of a core essence or set of values remaining relatively constant as an indication that we do have somewhat of an anchor point that we can rely on to trust that we remain our true selves amidst the growth. Not in the sense that we can't stray too far from the anchor, but more so to the extent that we have a reference point understand where we are coming from as we move forward. It is eternally a part of us, regardless of the paths we choose.

@@NahIamgood I'll definitely have to check that out! I've been pretty busy lately, hence the lack of uploads, but I would love to react to some other artists as soon as I have a chance. If I were to react to Sleep Token, where would you suggest I start?
@NahIamgood
@NahIamgood Ай бұрын
@@MFPReacts With Sleep Token (not sure if I mentioned that they are British), I would suggest you start with the more popular ones from their last album like Take me Back to Eden (title track of their 3rd album), Ascensionism, Chokehold or The Summoning. If you have more time I would definitely recommend to do the whole trilogy in order, but it's quite lenghty and your analysis will go long because there is so much to analyze lol As I said, I truly believe that you'll enjoy this band even if you do not do reactions to them but if you decide to give them a listen at least try to do a first reaction to Take me Back to Eden, it'll be worth it <3

How you decipher the lyrics and songs is so vastly different from what I interpreted as I listen to this album as if I was watching a musical production about the protagonist who came back from a trip and the entire musical was a dream. And the person at the end of the mad as rabbits song was the antagonist who got a taste of their own medicine from the events that unfolded in the musical

You worked so hard to try and connect this to the lore but missed the obvious meaning. Tyler is on stage. The lights flash in his eyes. And he remembers a time he was standing in the middle of the road and the headlights were heading for him and he prayed the lights would take him home. He snaps out of it when something/someone tells him to get out of the street.

This is the first time Tyler opens his eyes and faces Nico head on instead of crumbling before Nico. He’s more assured and confident in fighting for his happiness at this stage in his life. I am convinced this is not the end. The torchbearer needs to play a more significant role in the story. What comes next? I have no idea. But it’s going to be fun!

Glad you enjoyed it! Those are my thoughts as well. Fears are necessary to a degree and insecurities will arise no matter what. The objective shouldn't be to eradicate them altogether, but rather to not have them control you. In some cases, perhaps you can even find ways to harness them. I'd go as far as saying that we've been introduced to that idea through these visuals, in that Clancy is confronting the Bishops while still having that black paint on his hands and neck. My guess is that whatever comes next will further establish that idea.

@MFPReacts 3 ай бұрын
To be fair, the press releases back in February claimed that Clancy would be the final chapter in the story, and I don't think anything was said to refute that in anyway leading up to the album's release. If Tyler's hint you're referring to is the "You tell me, does it sound like the end" from the livestream, then yeah that definitely suggested that something was up, but I'm sure many were uncomfortable assuming anything. It's really exciting though! Can't wait to see what this will all lead to.

In the cliff he moves/dance like he is doing the size ritual. And like 3 times it right away cuts to someone doing a similar direction move in the battle. So i think tyler is the one in the cliff, and he is leading a battle against dema/mental health. And clancy could be anyone that is ready to try to defeat their personal demons/bishops, but this time we see the own tyler as clancy because he is telling his story.? So there are 2 tylers, the real tyler in the cliff that is real world tyler, and then there is the personification of ones mental health that has tyler face as he puts himself as the protagonist but could be anyone else too. And the antlers represent the music and the neds creativity. And the clancy characer uses red/ bad mental stuff color because is talking about it the way to defeat it.
@MFPReacts
@MFPReacts 3 ай бұрын
Interesting perspective! I believe your interpretation of the cliff thing matches my thoughts on it. I see the Banditos and the zombie army as representations of real life people, collectives, and parts of Tyler. So I too see the Tyler that is on the cliff mimicking the Banditos actions as a separate character from Clancy; and not directly part of the story. Instead, he is the one that is creating the story, hence his ability to predict the Banditos actions. In other words, I see him as real life Tyler imagining the story. Never thought of the Antlers as a representation of the music. I definitely thought of Ned being positively influenced by creativity and music, and given the type of powers the antlers have (ie influencing perspectives, redirecting various characters, and now we see that it can stave off the Bishops), it would make a lot of sense for the antlers to be a representation of the music. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing!

Does Clancy wear red because his direct opposite is blurryface whose eyes are red
@harleyjdarby4865
@harleyjdarby4865 3 ай бұрын
He wears red to take back the meaning of the colour and repurpose it. Also he wants to look different to the banditos so he can sneak off and leave the battle to go confront the bishops
@MFPReacts
@MFPReacts 3 ай бұрын
My understanding of it, as another commenter replied, is that Clancy is using the colour red as a means of reclaiming the colour that the Bishops tried to make their own. In doing so, he is further reducing their influence.

Great analysis of this video. Everyone seems to think the first hand is a bishop, but props to you for realizing its himself. Did you notice the Bishop behind Josh in most of the scenes of him in the darker lit blue room, and also only 8 Bishop robes in the closet behind Tyler.
@MFPReacts
@MFPReacts 3 ай бұрын
Oh dang you made go back to find that Bishop standing behind Josh, and it creeped the heck out of me haha! They blended him so subtly into the background even though he’s wearing colours that contrast the walls. The lighting worked really well in that regard, and that in of itself probably plays into the concept they’re going for with the red imagery and what it represents in this context.
