Wow, that's way too fast. The original motor has a 5:1 gear reduction before the step pulleys on the motor shaft and spindle. You're driving it with the power feed take off pulley. Usually the original gear reduction motors are long gone on these machines. Master motors with 5:1 reduction or Lima motors with a 4 speed transmission were original. Both available in single phase or 3 phase.

I remember traveling this in a Volkswagen up with a kid sleeping. Not one 4x4 would give way. Buggers

I have ridden this road pretty much every year for the past 10 years or so whilst staying locally with friends who have a farm, I must have been lucky as Ive never experienced issues with 4 wheeled vehicles not waiting ahead of me in passing places to let me by. The sheep can be a bugger though !

Excellent! Nice work, I just read your article in the star, sounds like great fun! Unfortunately I can’t help as mine’s a ‘56 Love all the oil puddles from the cars back at the pits!

Hi Jack, sorry for the late reply but Ive only just watched the video again & seen your comment. It was a great day & much fun was had dodging the oil slicks left behind on the corners by the cars, look for the lines of cement dust ! Watching it back it does look like I was able to acsend the hill much faster than a lot of the cars !
