I really miss being active in the Alumni Association. Age (75) and distance (Wilmington, NC) preclude my activity. Like Bennie, I was a State boy before I was a State student. Both my parents graduated from NC State in the 1930s (Mom, Lorena Brinson Vestal, was the first woman grad in Biology, and Dad, Ellis Vance Vestal, graduated in Animal Husbandry and became the NC State Swine Specialist before retiring to our farm). My oldest brother graduated in the 1050s. My late wife, Susan Bruffey Vestal (Recreation Therapy), and I, Roy Lee Vestal (Agricultural Education), both graduated in 1070. Finally, my granddaughter, Eva Hope Vestal, enrolled as a freshman in Psychology this fall. As anyone can see by the above, I am just an old Woflpacker from Tarheelia and proud of it. Go Pack!
