I’ve passed on this a couple of times. The price is good and the beer itself sounds okay but it just doesn’t excite me. Cheers!

Fun fact: Boags purchased on mainland Australia is produced at Tooheys in Sydney, you can only buy Tasmanian Boags in Tasmania.

unfortunately, they do not make Cascade Premium anymore, can't even get it in Tassie. Tasmanian's can get Cascade Pale Ale, Draught, Lager, Bitter, Export Stout and seasonally on tap Cascade First Harvest.

All I can find in Sydney is cascade premium light. I believe cub are moving operations to the mainland for manufacturing for outside of Tassie.

Great review, mate. I agree. It’s not an amazing beer by any stretch of the imagination but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. I’d happily drink it on a hot day. Foster’s also sponsored the AFL grand final and Melbourne Cup back in the 90s. Cheers!

Awesome review brother. Got a couple of mates with South Korean partners and they got me on to these. I wouldn't say they are the best beers but there were a couple of Asian grocers that were selling them for $30 a slab..... you can't go wrong at that price haha. Cheers brother!!

@@dechers77 I would say they are using Australian pale malts and galaxy hops with American idaho7, Amarillo and mosaic hops. Great beer haven’t tried it on tap but could only be better. Thanks for your comment and for watching. Cheers.

I miss Cascade Premium. In my opinion, it was probably the best Aussie premium lager in the 90s (ahead of Boag’s Premium, Hahn Premium and Crown Lager). I haven’t had Boag’s Light and it’s been a good 20-25 years since I’ve had Cascade Light, so I’ll trust your judgment on this one. Cheers!

Back in the nineties if I was at my local I would drink new, then when VB was out on tap that was my choice. Do you remember the pump house in Sydney, my favourite was thunderbolts or the George the 5th at Picton was also good.

@@kcsbeerroom Yeah I remember the Pumphouse as a friend worked there but I don’t remember ever going there myself. I didn’t venture into the city all that often (apart from uni) and when I did it was usually to The Rocks. The Hero of Waterloo and The Observer were our favourite pubs.

I find between all the different styles of WCIPA they bring out , there is minimal taste difference. But I’m no connoisseur and others can probably tell the subtle differences. Good beer anyway. Cheers

Matilda Bay was great back in the day. Redback and Dogbolter were sensational beers pre takeover. I used to drink Wild Yak occasionally but I haven’t had one in 5 years or so. Cheers!

I really like this one but I haven’t seen it for a couple of years. Nitro cans like this need a gentle shake and then a fast, hard pour to generate the cascading bubbles. Happy St Patrick’s Day. Cheers!

I haven’t tried this one but if it’s labeled as an Australian lager and it’s got an earthy taste then there’s a good chance it’s hopped with Pride of Ringwood. Cheers!

Good review, mate. It’s been quite a few years since I’ve had this but I remember it being a very decent pale. You’re right about the 375 ml can but to be honest, it’s my bare minimum. 440 - 500 ml is actually my preference. Cheers!

Corona is now owned by AB inbev and is now brewed in a lot of different countries, the version now on sale in Australia and New Zealand is brewed in china now, it changed towards the end of 2023.
