The footage at 6:14 of Gretz skating with the Cup in front of the Oilers fans - he and the fans both in jubilation - is so mesmerizing that I get chills watching it.

Hockey at its finest… not a single person on their cell phone. The crowds were wild back then. Also can we acknowledge how absolutes stacked this Avs team was 😍 Sakic, Hedjuk, Forsberg, Tanguay, Foote, Bourque and Rob Blake with the Saint Patrick himself in the pipes. Ay caramba.

I definitely know who he was and find it interesting that he didn't play and sing at the same time, at least in this video.

Green and Moore are better guitarists than I'll ever be but I never liked this fast interpretation of the song. It's supposed to have a slower, lilting groove with off-center phrasing--a stumble! At this tempo it becomes a barreling freight train and loses that effect entirely, even more so when their phrases fill in a lot of the spaces that Freddie left. I apologize for my heresy and will now return to my cave.

Proper blues guitarist. I think Clapton knew that. Those Germans who fucked him up should be ashamed.

I was there on 02-11-2009 when he was in the Bosuil in Weert, the Netherlands. I'm still grateful I saw and heard him play. His music will have a place in my heart for as long the dear Lord allows me to live. R.I.P. Peter.

LOL, those biased Boston announcers. Kordic could have knocked Miller unconscious and as they were carrying Miller off on a stretcher, they would say "I'll tell you, Miller took him to school!"

I remember every Tuesday and Thursday I was a little kid, and my dad would take me home from taekwondo I would pray a penguin game was on that night so we could turn on 105.9 and listen on the way home (I’m young, I guess ML wasn’t always a radio broadcaster? He was for my lifetime tho) Stiegerwald and Errey were the TV broadcasters through my childhood Edit: until we got Mears and I stopped watching television airings of the game. He’s not a bad PbP caller, but I just don’t like him personally
