I was not pleased with the tone in which the Chief was addressed. Regarding the point she made about the bus stop, the Prime Minister stated that consultations were held, allowing people to submit proposals on what they wanted. However, the work was already too far along to make changes because it would be costly. This was before she became Chief, and she did not argue. Later, a gentleman spoke and stated that he had participated in the consultation, submitted his proposals, and could now see that they had been ignored. The Prime Minister then proceeded to belittle the man for doing exactly what he had told the Chief was the proper procedure from the beginning. SMH. Both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism emphasized how unique the Kalinago Territory and its culture are as a tourism product they want to market. Yet, they failed to incorporate that uniqueness into the bus stops in the Kalinago Territory to highlight the very culture they claim to value. To make matters worse, at the end of the discussion, the Prime Minister turned the matter into a political one, claiming that those on the opposition side were trying to undermine the project to downplay its success. He repeatedly dismissed the public’s concerns as politically motivated, which seemed to be directed at Chief Sanford, who was previously a senator for the UWP. This was very distasteful. I saw nothing in what she or anyone else said that night that had anything to do with politics-people were simply voicing their opinions. In closing, if you are going to upgrade the Kalinago Territory, you must do so in a way that represents the culture of the people if you truly want to create a unique product. P.S. I see no respect for Chief Sanford from the Prime Minister. When that young man became Chief before, his photo was all over the Prime Minister’s Facebook page with congratulatory messages. I saw him at many government functions. When we had the first Kalinago President, she was also congratulated. I waited for weeks to see if the Prime Minister would post anything for Chief Sanford, but I saw nothing. It truly hurt my heart. We cannot keep speaking about the good Lord while failing to live an exemplary life modeled after Him-that is hypocrisy. I took my time to voice my opinion because I strongly believe that the Government is missing out on the opportunity to work more closely with a phenomenal woman like Chief Annette Sanford. She is the kind of woman who is not afraid of hard work and truly has a passion to serve. God bless Dominica!

Dominica 🇩🇲 is not unique in nature but what needs to improve is signage for discovering Dominica by tourists and then GPS navigation for cars that will open up all areas of interests to locals and tourists alike. I also think that Dominica can improve the the inmates living conditions by building state of the art jails /prisons which are more efficient but also make violent crime a harsh punishment which gives little relief in terms of getting out early and non violent crime a more nuanced carrot 🥕 and stick approach that includes trial diversion programs , which if not completed by the offender of the non violent crime, could land him or her in the slammer to do their time.

What they really do is through it in the garbage as the locals starve wondering where the fruits on the trees went. The old plantation model is the same as it ever was, poverty for the Maroons, the Creoles . Grow food for you and yours to eat, the larger community lof towns folfs included. Education is the key to success. Knowing how to build your homes and cottages, shoe your families and make clothing from seeds is the key to success.
