One thing the Beefeaters always forget to mention is just how slippy those cobbles are when wearing drill boots. My first ceremony of the Keys I nearly stacked it and ended up looking like a looney tunes character.

Yeah metal plates on wet stone, I don't envy y'all for having to do that in an official capacity. I'm just a historical interpreter, so I don't have to worry about looking like a fool if I slip, I'll just be laughed at by my co-workers.

This man is just fabulous he reminds me of myself ! I am a tour guide myself and I have led many English-speaking tours in Algeria. I love this job and I can personally say that being a tour guide is not an easy job to do unless you love it from the bottom of your heart. It doesn't only involve loving this job but also immersing yourself in history, make the tour fun, talk about different set of things to distract your guests. You have to be eloquent and resilient, know the ins and outs of your place, know your guests' interest and most importantly know how to manage your time. I am longing to start guiding again, I do miss this job.
